Other message boards you visit?

Do you post on other message boards?

Currently, I am not an active member at any other forums. In a few months time (July I think) it will be 2 years since having any account on CF. Other than that, I have an account on a Deist forum (under a different name) that I haven't used in a long time, an account on a "conspiracy site" (under a different name), which I haven't used in a long time either. Multiple accounts on other boards, such as music and political boards, sometimes under Stravinsk, sometimes other names - but haven't used them in years. I noticed in my travels a few other "Stravinsks" post on message boards that aren't me.

How about you? There is no need to name them specifically unless you want to.

I occasionally visit Catholic Answers forums.

I noticed on a few boards that I've read that there is a female using Stravinsk. I didn't think you had a sex change

I really only use this board and then I visit toetapping's board (the link is in her signature). She has a lot of nice people on her site but my time is consumed here.

After what happened to me on staff at CF and because of the toxicity of that site (and the owners for who they are and the ads they allow) I doubt I will ever go to any other Christian board again. If something ever happens to CH I'll probably not use boards again or just go to a secular board.

Most of my friends/family are just using Facebook groups now anyway. They aren't as efficient as message boards but that could change in the future if they design the groups better.

Maybe once a week, I peak over at CF only because there are several there I respect and consider friends but due to the toxicity of the site and especially the Admins, because of more than one horrible experience there at the hands of Admins, frankly - my visits there remind me of bad things and I don't linger or post. I use to visit at CARM now and then (again, some respected posters there) but it must have moved because my link doesn't work anymore.

THIS is - by far - the best ecumenical/interdenominational discussion forum on the net. While I wish it were bigger and more diverse.... while I wish I was successful in getting some really great posters from other sites to come HERE - I like it here. A lot.

I am on other places but haven't logged into them in ages now..CF well its just CF lol.. nothing more to say about there now.. I did meet some really nice people there, stayed friends with them even now, but I also met some snakes on there that would stab you in the back if they thought it would make them more popular .. enough said about them tho.. never had a staff problem over there either .. so now I am on here most of all. even facebook gets on my nerves some days..when i think how many hours I used to be on there. not anymore tho.lol

I am active on a couple of other forums besides this one. I have no issues with any forums per se. It is just unpleasant people that I run into.

There are unpleasant people all over and most of the time those people don't realize how harsh they come across.

Yeah I had a couple of those in the charasmatic forum on CF, one a pastor or at least he said he was, Jim and his sidekick that I cant remember now, they were the primary reason I left that forum after years of back and forth but I did meet a really nice charasmatic Catholic there called peaceful dove, she was a treasure

Far worse, imho, are the ones that sweettalk, woo, and coo, and snicker the whole time theyre stabbing you in the back. I'd rather have it out in honest, healthy debate, call each other morons, and go have a beer together, ('cept I dont do that), than to be sniped by some silver-tongued devils that think hopping around with their circle of 'friends' and messing with people is some sort of entertainment for them, all the while delberately causing great harm to others while putting some sort of notches on their pretend-to-be-christian belts.

The sidekicks can be so annoying, but I kinda feel sorry for them, bc they are trying to emulate someone they admire and perhaps get admired themself, but they generally cause more damage, and that to themselves as well bc even though they may not be as sinister as the topdog, they often become the fall guy for the main one and get hurt themselves in the process.
In answer to the OP, I don't have extensive experience with being a member of a whole lot of forums of any type at all, but I have read many, both before and after joining. I like CH alot, the overwhelming majority of ppl here appear to be christian or at least searching, we all have struggles at times, and well-meaning and pretty decent folk.

I frequent CF welcoming newbies and responding to prayer requests but I don't have a home forum there. I think the other posters like me but I'm just never quite one of the 'insiders'. Always a bridesmaid never a bride. Lol! Also FB but only friends and family, don't belong to any groups.

Yes, I frequent a few other forums. Some of them are private invitation forums and they are pretty nice although you run into people who get snarky everywhere you go, ya know. I'm just trying to accept them the way they are and try not to get offended badly. Ya know, shake it off, be more resilient, like let the water roll off your back. It's hard to do but I am trying.

I also go to a survivor of abuse forum that has little activity but those who are there are very nice. Then I go to a forum for older folks because I like to see the opinions of those my age a little younger and older, too; not that I don't appreciate the opinion of those much younger, too. There are also some there that can be very harsh too. I'm glad there is that "ignore" feature at all the boards!
