Could it be because I am a Catholic?
I guess I'm 94% Catholic..... Actually, of course, I gave the current RC Denomination responses, working the "test" rather than expressing the correct view, giving what I felt the quiz writer would consider the appropriate response. In at least one case, the test wasn't even accurate of the Catholic position but I was able to detect the least wrong response, the one the test writer obviously wanted (the quiz writer obviously isn't a correct Catholic).
I think the POINT here is that it seems non-Catholics often do pretty much as well (if not better) than Catholics. I'm not being overly-critical here, I'm sure the same would be true if there was a quiz about Lutherans: truth is, most laity are not well trained theologically. IMO, the reason why Catholics do worse is not because theological education there is necessarily worse than elsewhere but because Catholicism is SO confusing, entangled and just plain big: Your Catholic Catechism is some 600 pages long, my Lutheran one is 12 pages long.... mine hasn't changed one letter in nearly 500 years (no additions, no deletions, no edits, no changes) yours is CONSTANTLY changing (is my 1994 edition already obsolete?), it's impossible for Catholics to keep up. I'm not saying it's typical, but I CAN sincerely tell you that I think I know and understand Catholicism better than virtually all of my "Catholic" relatives... not infrequently, I've had to get out my Catholic Catechism to correct or teach a Catholic friend or relative about Catholicism... most of the Catholics I know would not get a 100% on that (admittedly flawed) quiz - most probably wouldn't get 50% even on that pretty simple quiz. A LOT of Lutherans might do better than a LOT of Catholics (because a lot of our teachings are vis-a-vis medieval Catholicism) - yet a FEW Catholics complain that non-Catholics don't understand Catholicism and thus are disqualified from speaking/posting about it. That's the point here, IMO.
