Cope?Everybody needs to be where they will learn the most. If for some that's controversial material then so be it. What we let influence us is reflected in what we have become and the direction in which we're going. The art is nothing less than working out our own salvation in fear and trembling. Maturity I would suspect comes from being able to cope within that sphere.
I think I heard of that once.
It's funny, but it seems invariable that I'll have a book or an author I'm getting some good stuff from, and something will come up, either on the net, in a forum, from a friend, something, that casts doubt or warnings about said book/author. It's almost a guarantee. I've got books as well as hundreds of cassette tapes, (you old enough to remember them?)
A sampling (by memory, I'm not home to view my library) many things by folks in no particular order, like:
John MacArthur, Ravi Zacharius, John Piper, David Jeremiah, RC Sproul (which, I only very recently realized the irony, that he goes by 'RC' lol), Charles Stanley, Chuck Smith and many other Calvary Chapel folks, Wayne Monbleau, Michael Youssef, Dave Hunt, many more, but I'll no sooner start reading or listening to one of them, and then I'll hear or read, 'Eww, HIM?? Stay away, no good, bad teaching, heresy', lol, etc. It'll just pop up, happens all the time.
I try to stick mostly to God's Word. (Then again, what other book do hear, 'Stay away, no good', etc., about, moreso, ... than the Bible?! :=D: )
