When you see goodness consistently shown and patience constantly evidenced and gentleness and kindness do you feel an urge to protect it in whoever it comes from?

I admit I don't always see the goodness and kindness at first in peoples' posts (I'm going with this for now since it's an easier example) because sometimes I don't agree with what they say.

My parish priest commented some years ago that disagreement is not a bad thing. How one deals with it can be either bad or good.

Oh, I do especially when a dear friend is being picked apart by a pack of rabid animals who also happen to be amongst my dearest of friends, for how could I stand by and watch an innocent be slaughtered? Humans are a pack indeed where they join in a group even if it's not exactly what they wish to do but everyone else is there so they do not desire to be left alone as that would leave them open to be attacked by the group. It is difficult to stand one's ground and difficult as well to protect the good.
