Listening to the neighbors in my suite making outrageous noise in the kitchen. They slam every cabinet, drawer, pot, pan, cooking utensil, you name it.Then they cook everything fresh (not a bad thing), but it can take up to three hours from prep to cook to eat. Then, when I'm finally able to wander in the kitchen to make something to eat... What. A. Mess.
Grease, slimed counter-tops, vegetable scraps in the sink, caked-on flour, everything wet because they DID clean their pots/pans/bowls (with the requisite slamming of cabinets), but didn't dry off the counter-tops.

I've resolved that some morning, at about 6 a.m., I'm going to go down the hall with an 80's style boom-box, turn it up to '10', and play some of the heaviest stuff I used to listen to back in the 80's. It won't be pleasant.

Sitting here eating a sandwich because I just didn't have the energy to cook tonight, decided today to change where my pc desk was going, big mistake what I thought would take about an hour turned into four, so now have the mother of all back aches again, I really should just leave things as they are, but it does look better so that's the reward for the bad back again...

Hey fun! You live in a students' home! Good old time, I miss it.
Hahahahahahaha that filthy mess in the kitchen always and mice just jumping around in the living room and eating from the kitchen cupboards.

I stood up at 7.15, was in time before 9 for a change cause we have workshops til 12. I went to one for an hour about the new environment law we get and it was just so boring, I sneaked out after coffee and hope noone notices I skip the next talk. I can't listen another hour to that boring stuff.

Finishing breakfast and ready to move things back into a room upstairs after I painted the trim, doors & windows in there. I hope I get all this painting done before guests start to show up at our door late spring!

One of the things I did today was to buy a head of romaine lettuce, cut off enough of the top to use in a couple of salads and to provide a little space for planting. Been watching videos/reading posts about people using the stumps to grow more lettuce by placing it in water and letting it get a little sunlight from a window inside their residence. My transparent plastic box is yet another terrarium - I put pebbles in the bottom then mixed up some coconut coir with rock dust (minerals) and some diluted urine :;-): (for NPK) - the soil used on top of the pebbles. I have no shame - I refuse to buy fertilizer when I pee it out all the time, lol.

So - how long can I harvest this romaine lettuce once it grows in my terrarium? Indefinitely? Will I have to add more nutrients (minerals) to the soil eventually? We'll see.

Other than that - playing lots of Bach lately. Great discipline for piano.

I said to the kids: this morning I sat for 2 hours looking at the gigantic mess and didn't clean up, thinking: I did not do that. I didn't throw the chewing gum on the floor. I didnt throw the rabbit food in the bed. It was perfectly clean.
But then I realized I wasn't 6 anymore, but 46 and cleaned up anyway with the French hit as we call it: whoop yeah thats good enough.
Roy: mom did you get a flower?
It's dead already. :;-D: You have to take care of it mom!
Oh now they plucked my red rose. Oh well.

I almost bought a new bunny. They were so sweet. I wanted to buy another cage but they had none. They had 4 sweet fluffy hang ear baby bunnies but they were all male and I don't need thousands of them.

Ever since my daughter took her guinea pigs to live with her I have been having guinea pig dreams. Sometimes I have dreams about 2 headed guinea pigs. The latest one was that I met up with a childhood friend and she turned into a guinea pig and back and back again. I hugged her and told her how I loved her and missed her LOL

Well, it's 7:00. I wonder how long before I get to make dinner. The 'kids' appeared as if they were just getting started. :/

Also got a timer for my desk-lamp. There's no natural light in my room, so my body clock is off and I'm winding up sleeping way too late. This way, the light can come on in the morning. I tried an alarm, but all I do is shut it off and go back to sleep. The light will have me up and into my routine (i.e. 'coffee' :))

Speaking of...

Light and coffee, sounds like a normal mourning routine :)
