I'm curious about the need for added lines at the end of some posts, followed by some punctuation sign. can anyone explain? To wit:

.
Thanks!

I always add about 3 dots after I post, Its just something I have always done, why I have no idea to be honest...

People do different things.

Some post all in some color (color font).
Some post all in one long, run on paragraph.
Some capitalize words they want to stress, others use embolden font or underline, some use both
Some use a lot of emojis, some use none.
Some purposely misspell some words, some unintentionally do (lol).
Rarely does it make the post unintelligible. So rarely is it an issue.

It's all good. Unless it leaves you confused about what is meant by the words in the post.

Different point, but what IS confusing to me are those who do not quote the post and poster they are responding to. The post reads something but "Yeah, but you forget this..... you are wrong about that." Who is you? What is wrong? Sometimes it's impossible to tell. But that's another issue for another thread, lol

It's a habit that surely must annoy many who reply and include a quote from the person writing the offending posts. It makes their quote much larger than it ought to be. It makes their post take up far more space on the screen than it deserves.

I find when I'm deleting the extra lines, I will inevitably delete part of the "[/quote]" portion as well - which leaves an awkward "uote]" in my reply. maddening, I tell ya! Maddening! :D

I do not like it, but it is not up to me. people who space out their posts with lots of padding and a trailing '.' know it is bad form. They ought to stop. It's like TYPING IN CAPS or in multiple colours. It's just bad form.

Well, bad form could also be considered sentences and thoughts that run on and on without end - that is - forever without stopping to make a valid point or argument for or against a certain point of view, or position, for which one has decided he or she is for or against in this day and age of deciding that such things are worthy of one's attention and time, given the myriad of things that one could possibly be spending one's time on, what with the limited hours in the day that one finds oneself with, and the more pressing matters of life besides posting on random discussion sites, such as this one or others (although one ought not to name the competition, since they're a bunch of meanies :D).
