Hmm.

Well after multiple attempts my terrariums have failed. I thought - too much water? Too much soil? Not right balance of minerals in soil?

?

So on a whim I started a new one - used the same soil mixture/dampness - but just changed one thing - location. This one is inside - facing East through a window. Outside the window is some shrubbery. So it gets scattered morning and mid-morning sun.

I planted some pre-soaked chia seeds in there a few days ago.

They have sprouted :)

Will they last and grow into full grown chia plants? I guess time will tell.

Location does make a difference sometimes. I have an orchid that hated being in the same room we were so I moved it to a room where no one goes and the curtains are shut. It is still light in there. Now it thrives. It is an introvert!

Home from a memorial service. Now sipping on a home-made mocha :coffee:
I'm supposed to be working the over-night shift tonight, and really should get some rest. But if I try to rest this late in the afternoon/early evening (6:00 pm) it usually throws me off, so I think I'll try to weather it out. I can rest up tomorrow.

We tried once with an orchid. The rumor was (so I read...) that they were quite hardy, and put up well with different conditions. No-one said that to ours. :D

Lol , yes , it's important to talk to your plants ..... And sometimes you have to remind them just where they stand. :D Don't want any beautiful blooms becoming shrinking violets.

It's like us, sometimes ... Needing reminders that Jesus paid for ALL our sins, and He calls us to come boldly before His throne of grace, and thankfully, His Word says we are not of them who draw back unto perdition, but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
(But it's nice to be reminded.....I often need to hear it again...and again and again!) God bless. :)

Learn the subtle are of the grand-pa nap. If you learn it well you will be able to adjust your inner-clock to any time requirement. The only proviso is that you get enough free time for more grand-pa naps :)

I suspect the seedlings in my terrariums were failing simply due to heat - it gets hotter in the terrarium than outside temps. Heat is a variable I didn't give a whole lot of consideration when setting them up outside. Instead I focused solely on water content and soil composition.

But as I said - time will tell. I'll be checking the chia sprouts daily to make sure they are healthy.

Cactusses and xerophytes thrive everywhere.
I tried to grow grass on the balcony. Didn't work. Then I though hey weed that'll grow everywhere. I was wrong. Not in the nice box I made on the balcony.
I wanted to have a mini garden for the bunnies.
I forgot they like to dig holes.

Checking maps for a cultural historical atlas with long gone windmills and other stuff, check if it's all in the right place lol.

3,6 km (2 miles or something?)

How tall is it?

When my daughter was younger we took a trip to Holland, Michigan and they have a windmill there that came from Holland and it's a big tourist trap. Of course we had fun going inside and then going through the little Dutch village to eat the goodies.
