Hundreds of lawyers descended upon airports after Trump's executive orders to ban certain people from the US.

Here is an article with a picture. The Immigration Attorney with the sign that reads "We love Refugees" happens to be my niece.

Kudos to her. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the ban it says so much more to actually do something specific about a situation than to do little more than gripe about it on faceache.

Can someone explain why people are so mad at Trump for banning certain people from the USA when Obama and other presidents have done the same thing in the past? Why is it wrong when Trump does it?

Not trying to start a fight im genuinely curious.

I find it a little bit strange too that it's okay for some people and not others to do this kind of action. I think they hate the man so much that they'll protest his every move. It's annoying actually.

It's for 120 days. It's only for a handful of countries. For 4 months - while a permanent policy (in conformity with what Trump promised and was elected upon) is developed.

While I agree this is very sweeping (again, it's for 120 DAYS until policies can be developed and employed) but I think it's also true that terrorist ARE more likely to be Muslim and with connections to those nations rather than Lutherans from Sweden or Agnostics from Iceland or even Anglicans from New Zealand. I think if you review the cases around the world of terrorism attacks, you'd be reminded that they do TEND to be Muslim and with connections to those countries rather than Hindus or Presbyterians or Jews with connections to Australia or Denmark. And again, it's for 120 days... it's very temporary.... a "time out" for 120 days WHILE permanent policies are considered and developed.

I didn't vote for Trump.... I don't like Trump.... but I think the libs, the press and the Hollywood crowd are going to spin EVERYTHING he does in the worse possible way since they insist he's not really our president, didn't really win the election, and because he's never held a political office before and is not a liberal obviously can't think and obviously does everything out of pure hate and ignorance. Come on....

I would prefer if he had developed a plan for this BEFORE taking office (not needing the 120 days) and would wait to implement it until approved by congress. But this is not unusual. FDR kept talking about his "New Deal" to end the depression when we now know he had NO IDEA WHATSOEVER how he would do that.... the "New Deal" was just two words, he had NO IDEA what he'd do differently: he came into office and then - over the course of several years - threw various stuff on the wall and notice if it stuck, he "winged" the whole thing. And yes, he often just put a "hold" on policies that came before him until he could figure out alternatives with the theory that what was hurting would be stopped until he could think up something that might help instead. Sorry to say, it's not at all uncommon among leaders in general and presidents in particular. I just hope Trump uses these 120 days well..... that he listens to advisors..... We'll see.

That is the problem, he has no plan. He shoots from the hip and lets things shake out. He is horrible and will do this country more damage in four years than most have done in our history

This is exactly the feeling I had when former President Obama was in office. I was really annoyed, so I understand how you feel.

There will be mistakes aplenty. I read where a Syrian family of four, Christians, were deported back to Syria even though they had received approval to come to this country as religious asylum. It took them 12 months to get that approval, but they got sent back to Syria. These type of mistakes are grievous, and I hope that family can get the situation turned around.

Most people talk out of both sides of their mouth.

I get the basic gist and reason for the ban, and of course there are going to be mistakes and miscarriages of justice.

Islamic culture and core teachings are not compatible with independent thought and basic freedom - and this is especially true for women on multiple levels.

Look at what has happened to Sweden. If you don't think it can't happen to your country simply on breeding and numbers - it can. This is especially true with the fact that because most western nations have gone completely secular and perverted or dismissed the traditional family unit in favor of "gay marriage", abortion, etc - the birthrates are in very dangerous areas.

So, yeah. Stupid gay mardi gras and marches and "abortion rights" and idiots prancing around talking about their freedoms can only last for a limited time -

Birth rates declining in West rapidly.
Birth rates in Islamic cultures completely dwarf those of western nations.

So let em all in. In 20 years or less, females will be wearing a burqa, everyone will be praying towards a big black box at prayer call, and if you're a female, will have half the rights of a male.

As far as this thread is going I see no one mad at Trump.

I find it a little bit strange too that it's okay for some people and not others to do this kind of action. I think they hate the man so much that they'll protest his every move. It's annoying actually.
No one here is talking about hate. My niece was showing love.

Denmark and Sweden.

Now Rape and Violent Sexual Assault against women capitals of the western world.

The ratio of Violent and Sexual Assault against women has risen right along with massive intakes of Islamic refugees over the past decade or so.

Those are not exaggerations.

I'm not proud of your niece or people like her. She and others are being played for other purposes.

Well, I am proud of her and don't really care that you are not. This thread has turned into something it was not meant to be. It was about the lawyers giving free services to immigrants.

Re: Rep "Your post was rude" - actually - no. But I have the ability to live in a reality that includes facts yours apparently does not. Disagreeing with a position does not make my post rude.

I know what the thread was about - and the immigrants in question are mostly from predominately Islamic countries where various Countries especially in Europe have reaped the consequences of mass migration from these predominately Islamic regions.

If you would like to pretend it doesn't exist or isn't real in la la land, that's fine. But ultimately it's people who wish to ignore the realities that are largely responsible for the disasterous consequences of those realities.

If Trump or another president folds because of this farce and continues letting in massive amounts of Muslims as Europe has, and especially places like Sweden - then expect the same consequences to follow. Not right away - but in time - just as Sweden has seen the results over time.

Violent sexual assualt (including gang rape against teenage girls) up 1,400% in 40 years. That is the plain fact of it. You can call it racist or islamophobic - all terms you've probably been duped to use by television people - but that is the fact of it.

Does that matter in la la land? Maybe it will matter later when your children reap the benefit of burying your heads in the sand. You would do your niece a better service for informing her of the realities of what she is promoting.

If anyone wants to stop the refugee crisis - then the first step is to stop creating refugees. Get out of the middle east entirely. Stop participating or intervening in conflicts there.
