Even for one who is merciless? One who does not forgive others? Matthew 18:21-35 NASB and Matthew 6:14-15 NASB

If a person is merciless and unforgiving, repentance is still available.

Of course it's all paid for by Jesus' blood but those verses bout not receiving forgiveness unless we forgive everyone first is the law speaking to us telling us how we should live and yet how do you love your neighbors more than yourself in order to forgive them all completely. Isn't the answer found in Jesus whose blood covers us so that we are now as perfect as he is spiritually because of original sin our bodies are still going to turn away and do bad things daily so we rely on Jesus and his forgiveness even though we can't possibly do what the law says about forgiving perfectly.

You read your bible dividing it into Law and Gospel? That must take a lot of effort.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth.

You think that verse means to divide the bible into Law and Gospel?

Meaning to be led by the spirit and know the word well so you can find the bits and pieces and put them together correctly, not about Law and Gospel

I am truly baffled by this reference to law and gospel.
It comes across to me as a whole lot of bizarre reasoning mashed together to self excuse a person from obeying Jesus.
Why would any one want to do that? Do we not love him ,adore him .are we not his disciples?ones learning of him and willing to lay down our lives for him who laid his down for us?
Some people who profess they love him won't even lay down their favorite tv show for him,let alone their plans desires will or life.

And when it is suggested obedience is love for him.some bizzar blurry blueberry mishmash of law&Gospell junk gets spouted around.
Its about as far opposite to living in Christ Jesus as one can possibly get while still taking his name.
To know him is to love him to love him is to Obey him .
To do niether.is to take his name in vain.

You know Paul scolded the Galatians because they wanted to mix law and Gospel

Gal.3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

LOL. :rotfl:I think you are lost in your own righteousness.

i saddened that you you see fit to make such sweeping comments which are unedifying and which you cannot , based upon a couple of posts which you have misunderstood make the seeping judgment that i am lost in my own righteousness .i have none of my own .in me that is ,in my flesh ,is no good thing . which is why we are to live out of the Holy Spirit and Not after the desires of the flesh .for to live out of the flesh leads only to sin to live out of the spirit (holy) leads only to more righteousness
I am in Christ he is my righteousness since i am made the righteousness of God Christ Jesus(as scripture states ) what shall be the produce of it ?
does the righteousness of Christ produce more righteousness or more sin ?

this is why i question so many traditional things people repeat .too often it is just a carnal minded reasoning to excuse the truth that they are unwilling to turn from their present sinful action .
action is the key . those that SAY yes lord I will do your will and those that actually Do it are two very different camps . it comes back to the ewise and foolish virgins . only half of the church gets in .scary ain't it .

No thats what practicing homosexual Dutch christians say too and I cant blame them. Everyone can be excused for everything they keep on doing, its all grace and of course we cant keep the law, but for them its all of a sudden different.
Jesus dealt with the sin nature and the old man. We cant forgive perfectly ourselves but we can choose and let Him do it through us.
