A few month back I got almost daily phone calls from some chap (usually with a Indian subcontinent accent) that my taxes were overdue and if I didn't contact them there would be legal action and possible arrest. It was very odd. An obvious scam. I suppose they hope to dupe some people into giving tax and bank details over the phone.

It was very odd. An obvious scam. I suppose they hope to dupe some people into giving tax and bank details over the phone.

Happening here as well. A number of people just have fun with them when they call and keep them on the line for a half hour. Gets 'em pretty mad.

I used to do that with some bill collectors. I never denied that I owed the bill; I just said that 'Jeff' was home, and that I'd go get him. Then I'd put the phone down for about five minutes, come back, and take a message.

Speaking of PayPal and scams, my husband got a call from a "collection agency" demanding money because of something to do with his PayPpal account. He doesn't have one. I looked up the company and many people complained about it and said they would repeatedly call with threats and become verbally belligerent.

scams are getting really common and aggressive too.

My whole house needs painting, I just wish I could get some energy to actually do it now.. maybe its just to cold and I can wait for spring or summer then open windows, as its hard trying to paint with an asthmatic and copd suffers living here..
