I love chili in the crockpot. I don't add my own seasonings anymore since McCormick makes a nice Chili packet seasoning (mild - Low Sodium is what I buy) and I usually add browned ground beef (a pound or so), a large can of diced tomatoes or sometimes a can of whole peeled tomatoes, and 2 or 3 cans of light/dark kidney beans (I like to mix them and I rinse them before putting them in). That's it. I love making cornbread to go with it!

Yes, lots of kidney beans, beef, chilli, tomatoes, tomato sauce, mustard, brown sugar, and spices and other things. Lovely stuff :)

I could do a chili that isn't spicy at all. We hate spicy foods.

You could easily buy chili powder and just add it until the flavor is right and don't add any cumin.

Yes, so use a tiny amount at first and see what you think. Add it to one serve after you remove the serve from the pot. Use very small amount, less than 1/10 of a teaspoon full and mix it in well. Then see if it is tasty.
