Sometimes perception comes in time, with knowledge. Sometimes the knowledge is never gained - this is called nescience. It differs from ignorance because it doesn't contain the willful "ignore" aspect. Children are nescient in many respects - until they grow older and learn things by rote or experience or both. Then if they choose to ignore this knowledge, they are ignorant. I speak generally though. I thought the gif was clear enough, but apparently not - and now I'm not inclined to conduct any kind of class on interpreting my wild imagination. But if the knowledge (of the immediate, and the extended) is needed by anyone, then it will be given in time.
(Totally unrelated, only but sort of) - I just found some of your posts on CF, MoreCoffee. I noticed that Alithis is there as well, and some others from this forum (some of whom are inactive). I didn't actually go looking for you, just happened across them. Anyway, interesting.
