I wonder what a truly ancient being - one of billions of years of age - with deep memory and the ability to remain hidden when it wanted to ... what would such a being know and think about our world.

Are you referring to God? Or Satan?

Not God, for God is eternal and not merely billions of years old not Satan because he is God's creature and - sadly - quite wicked.

Then who or what? Some fictional being ? ... so that we can say that the world is sinful and full of people who aren't always showing love to one another?

We live in a world, that since the fall, has people killing, raping, stealing, etc...and we also have people who have love, compassion, and generosity. Your ancient being surely would have knowledge of the Savior and would expect that when He returns again and after the judgment that there will finally be true peace.

A fictional being but with no special moral lesson in mind. That's why I put this in off topic area ... :p

Think of it as a science fiction story teaser.

It could start like this
He felt cold and if he was minded to think like you or me he would also think he was feeling his age. But age never entered his thoughts; he'd been here, in this place, for several millions of revolutions around the sun and now he was feeling the cold of a winter's night. ....

When I picture a being billions of years old, and who is able to remain hidden at will, I conjure up mental images of a being who evolved in another star system much older than our own, and whose race is far ahead of our own in terms of technology and understanding of physics, having bridged the gap of interstellar, or even intergalactic space. Its immense lifespan could be natural or synthetic. Such a being would likely recognize our species as having some intelligence, no matter how dim compared to its own. Having a deep memory, it may recognize in us some of the same pitfalls its race (or other races it has encountered) went through in their growth. I would like to think such a being would view us with interest and hope rather than just another precarious fledgling species with little hope for surviving our own ignorance and growing beyond our many current limitations.

Do you really think he would feel his age?

When I was a kid I thought people over 30 were OLD!! I mean REALLY old. I'll be 50 next month and I don't feel old at all. I don't feel any older than my 30s. I'd probably say 20s but I was kind of a brat so no. ;)

So when I think of this ancient being whose lifespan isn't given to us I'm not sure I would think he would feel so old because he might still be a baby according to his race? :D I know my friends who are 20 years older than I am call me the baby of the group LOL
