If He couldnt sin then obedience does not enter in, obedience involves choice. I agree that it was to show us what is possible as man and that sin can be avoided but in order to do that He had to be able to make that choice

Are some really that hung up on 'free will' that we have to apply sin to the Living God to justify it? Curiouser and curiouser...

You don't apply sin, but the capacity to do it. Otherwise it was no struggle at all. How would He be able to understand us as a High Priest if He wasn't even tempted? He was our Example.

It's all a part of the relentless application of faulty logic to God. Some folk want God to be comprehensible so bad that they are willing to diminish God to get what they want. No wonder atheism is so wide spread. With theology as bad as that it is no wonder people reject it entirely.
