Composite Deck question

We have a huge deck in the back that is made of composite that the former owners paid the Amish to install. It's been relatively easy maintenance for us the past 3 years and I use Oxyclean in the spring to clean off any dirt, mold, pollen, etc...

My daughter came to stay over the summer and sprayed bug spray on herself and now we have a huge oil stain left behind (and her little footprints showing!). I used Oxyclean and the stain is still there. My husband used vinegar to no avail.

Would it be awful in the spring for me to just spray the rest of the deck with bug spray? I mean it brought back the original color very nicely in that stained spot! What would be the negative of doing this?

Ask the local Amish how they remove oil stains from that kind of surface.

One day on cf I figured: hey I'm just talking to people I don't even know, just quote a complete stranger's post and comment on it. You know what? They're just people like the ones irl. Why don't I do that irl too?
Hmmm it got a little better, but quoting posts is still much handier. When they talk talk talk in a group and peep they don't even hear me, it's much easier to just grab my phone and post LOL.

That's a great idea. That peep is louder and catches their attention immediately.

You should try a cleaner in an inconspicuous spot. Something natural with oil in it. Maybe tee tree oil.

Any strong solvent will most likely damage the composite.

You could also find the name after a manufacturer of said composite and inquire of them.

Thanks! I reviewed a few of the composite sites and they said that in a few years the spot will fade from the sun.
