greetings friends. just came back from an all day shopping binge. once a month I do major shopping. I went to safeway, trader joes, grocery outlet, wal mart, walgreens and office depot. tired and drained.

I usually lose the will to live within minutes of going into wally world.

I never shop online. my identity was almost breached when I was buying a cap on cafepress 10 year ago. after that, I have great distrust buying online. it has to be in person.

A lot of times local can be extremely expensive! I like to support the local mom and pop shops but if I need to save money for my family then I have to go where the sales are.

exactly, my income is tight but when produce is in season I am lucky to have Amish around and produce is usually reasonable

It doesn't matter. Last time I got cheap stuff from China. Had to wait more than a month for nothing, didn't fit. We also have cheap shops here who get it from there. Same price.

A comment on here reminded me of when I posted at ChristianChat (before I was booted) and some people who didn't like things I wrote thought they would practice their contempt by taunting me (or thinking that they were) with some form of "you are not going to heaven" - primarily because of how I identify (Deist) and that I don't swallow much of Saul/Paul theology.

I'm smiling. Why would I want to share heaven with such horrible people? Please God, save me from *that* heaven.

Sure, the local guy has to offer some value, although sometimes the value he adds is about more than being cheaper than the rest. If he costs more he needs to offer a better product or better service. For me the freedom to see and touch the product before buying is worth something.
