It's not an attempt to deceive God - that would be a very silly thing to attempt - it is like recording what is said in the holy scriptures except this is using a recording device instead of a human being to hear and then write.
weird ....Imagine Moses heading up the Mountain with a recording device so that he doesn't have to write on parchment. That same voice that spoke to the people below and scared the ......*^%*^&%#... out of them... now coming out of recording device ... do you think that would make it better? Do you think there is a recording device that could handle it?... This speculation to divert the conversation away from getting real with Him on a one on one basis will never answer what you do not want confirmed.

Would you rather I use the term KJV uses "book"? Deut 31:24 And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

Getting a little off topic are we.

Prayer is for remembrance of the will of God in the individuals life. It isn't for God's sake but for man's. It is to keep what is pleasing to GOD close in mind and close at hand.

If that is what prayer is for then why make petitions in prayer?

Petitions? Like asking for GOD to do things for you?

The only petitions that should be asked for are those things that are of God's will. Asking for anything whatsoever that conforms to the will of GOD towards creation is good and in line with what I said earlier. Asking for those things stemming from wants for self better known as greed is not what prayer is for.

Carefully go over scripture in reference to these things and I think you will agree. Please feel free to post scripture; we can review it together.

Peace

It might :)

It may be so that one can give it to the poor ...
It would be pretty hard to believe that any would pray to win the lottery just to give it all to those in need. It would be great if true, but I would have to witness them actually giving the whole of it in order to believe it. Good thing it isn't our place to judge others ultimately.
