Bats are really cute but rabies is always a concern. I don't mind snakes. I don't mind many creatures in fact. But I hate swimming with fish!

I love seeing bats, they are so beneficial, eat a lot of insects but they are having problems with white nose disease

Lots of work ahead, I dont envy you

Lots of work indeed. I spent an hour today ripping down some more ceiling, only to find it appears there's an old cable powering an oven. For good measure it was run diagonally across the ceiling, so it's not even as if there's enough of it to tuck away more tidily.

A cable that fat will carry anything up to 40-50A - that's the kind of cable I'll pay someone to replace rather than doing it myself. Cable that fat is harder to work with, and I don't care to pull an oven out of place to get at the connectors on it.

If I recall correctly, in the top 10 list of most venomous snakes, OZ has numbers 1-9. :scared:

Not quite, they have 9 of the top 10 but I think the one they are missing ranks maybe 4 or 5.

Wow, Ruth...that is so strange, because a few days ago for the first time I know of, I had a bat in my house too! What drew my attention to it was the fact that my cats were going crazy trying to catch it as it flew around in circles. I opened my front door and was able to "guide" it out pretty quickly. What a coinky-dink!
That is a real coinky-dink! The first time ever I had a bat in the place I live. I'm glad we were both able to get the bats out without a hitch. They are kind of cute, though, aren't they?

I really didn't see it close enough to determine cuteness...I just didn't want my cats to get a hold of it because it would be a mess and as Bill said, they are great pest control as well. :D

Our apartment complex is having a cookout. I am making potato salad and also bringing some cheese, pumpkin loaf, and apple pie. I hope it is not real hot on Monday. I don't like sitting out in the hot sun all day. It should be nice.

It might be fun...some of the people here get on my nerves, though. There was a girl sitting out last night with a group of us and every other word that came out of her mouth was the "f" word or variations of it. I found that disturbing. What are people trying to prove when they use that word? She was bragging about what a rebel she was. She ruined my evening. I hope she is not at the cookout or if she is I will not sit near her.

What they are showing is how ineffective they are at expressing themselves with an extended vocabulary. :)

Yeah, you would say that!!

Oh, wait - the word you are talking about is not Florida / FSU, is it?

Never mind.

For some members of my family, "FSU" is definitely a "bad word"...LOL! But for others, it is a word of honor. I've got 'Noles and 'Gators all through the fambly...and they love to razz each other, in a friendly way thankfully. :)

Sounds like it Mark. Seems very limited to just use the "f" word all the time. I was wondering if it bothered anyone else and it didn't seem to. I know I looked disturbed by it and couldn't help but show it but I didn't say anything. After awhile I just got up and excused myself and left with my doggie.

My dad was a trucker, and I was a sailor, and even I find people who can't seem to speak more than a couple of words without profanity to be boorish and I don't like being around them. ;)
