The holy scriptures have various themes embedded in the text. Some are historical, some moral, some theological. Some groups concentrate on one or two themes making them central to their teaching. What themes are central to your approach to the holy scriptures?

I know of groups that make the following matters central:
  • The vindication of God against all accusations of injustice and immorality
  • Loyalty to the law of God given through Moses
  • The grace of God given to humanity
  • The incarnation of God for the salvation of humanity
  • Divine wisdom, knowledge, and purpose
  • Human dependency, incompleteness, reliance upon God

Perhaps your own view is like one or more of the above. Let's discuss and see where we land.

IMO, the two overarching themes of the Scriptures are Law and Gospel. The point at which these touch is the Cross. I accept both of these totally, fully. Not confusing, blending or diminishing them.
