Who is upgrading to the new Windows 10?

My system can't handle it but I'll be looking to get a new computer in the future so I'm sure I'll have the operating system then.

If I get a new computer I guess I will have to use Windows 10. Hopefully, it's a good system.

Not until Microscoff have had chance to shake out the teething issues.

After Windoze ME, Vista and 8 I'm not interested in being an unpaid beta tester. I'll stick with Windoze 7 until it all stabilises.

I have Windows Vista and it never has caused me a problem that I know of.

I used Windows Vista briefly when I needed a piece of software I developed to support it and it caused me so much grief I looked forward to the day that I could stop supporting Vista.

I dropped Vista support before I dropped XP support.

Don't know why it acted that way for you but it's been good to me for many years!

It tried to download for me about six times yesterday. Each time failed. According to Microsoft Online support, "this is to be expected...". Would have been nice to know before all the hype. As of now, I'm still waiting. Apparently (according to "Yahoo News") the biggest complaint is advertising while playing solitaire... :/

From what I gather it's a system that worked just fine for some people and caused nothing but headaches for others. The impression I get is that the more you try to do with it the more troubles you'll have with it - certainly most of the people I've known who despised it were pretty hardcore power users.

It hasn't downloaded for me yet. I suspect that the demand may be far greater than the supply.

Gotta love "Youtube" :)
The "fix" was to change some settings to appear as if the location of the computer was in the United States. I then went to a download page on Microsoft website and it worked. All in all took about two hours to complete the whole thing. One drawback is some privacy concerns. Microsoft wants to know a lot of location information, but this can be customized as well. But, so far so good.

Tell us the sad or the glad story of your installation of Windows 10 and your experience with it.

I checked out Edge on Windows 10, seems like a better copy of Google Chrome.

I installed windows 10 in a virtual machine on my pc to test it out. I didn't want to lose Windows Media Centre because I use it for watching live TV with a Videomate U80 USB TV tuner stick and one can't do that under Windows 10.

My overall impression is that it is good. It is similar to Windows 7 but with Windows 8.1 features and much more touch-sensitive appeal. It would be quite nice on a tablet as well as a desktop. But if you use windows on a desktop and do not have it on a tablet (my tablet runs Android) then stick with Windows 7.

The cloud stuff in Windows 10 is good but you can get it for Windows 7 too and I didn't see anything in the new OS that made it so appealing that I wanted to use it in place of Windows 7.

I did a clone of my HDD and a backup too. The clone was to a SSD and now I am using Windows 10 after letting it upgrade on the SSD. All is going well so far.

I changed things around. Win7 is on the SSD and win10 on the HDD. I like win7 better on the whole but win10 is good for some things.
