So pretty much a kid ran across the road to meet his family on the other side. The car in front of me braked, which then had me hitting my brakes hard as crap and it didn't sound good. All in all, I was annoyed and mad that the parents don't seem to care. I don't want to say they're wanting them to get hit, but it's ridiculous that the parents don't see an issue. It's like they want them to get hit to get money lol.

There are people who feel their children can do no wrong and when corrected they say you can't judge their parenting. Or lack of it.

Yes, it would take a lot before I would openly criticize someone for their parenting skills...because you know that's not really going to lead anywhere productive. A parent who would direct their child to cross a street with oncoming traffic clearly isn't paying attention...this could be a rare lapse, or it could be an indicator of pervasive poor judgement. It would be hard to know that.

However, I would tend to judge the parent(s) much more on how they reacted to the situation after seeing two cars have to grind to a halt. If they were apologetic and embarrassed I would tend to be much more forgiving of the situation than if they behaved like it was my fault for daring to drive on that road at the same time their child darted across it.

My kids always watch out and only walk if I say so, but recently they had something new, guess they saw it on youtube: Yolo!
They all ran to the other side yelling Yolo!!
And then when I warned them to never do that again, oh the small one said, but the car just stopped. He understands now, told him a 7 year old from a collegue is dead now. With his grandma who let him bike on a dangerous road with busses that drive way too hard. I got hit by a car when I was 8 and had to go to the hospital. The guy in the car right stopped and waved that I could walk and a woman from the left just kept driving and saw nothing. They're not all that smart that they see it and stop, I told him and if they drive hard they can't even stop.
In those neighbourhoods with a lot of kids cars may only drive 30 km/h.

Kids will be kids but you would hope that parents would instill in them not to play around traffic and pay attention
