Introductions have now been made, shake hands gentlemen then please let us all return to the topic amicably.
Do any of the folk here in Christianity Haven speak a real language that others can translate when they speak in tongues?
'Speaking tongues' would mean, for example, waking up and being able to speak to Mandarin. I mean, that would make sense, right? Christianity is on the decline in most places, but it's surging in China.
That, to me, is Biblical tongues and precisely why I think it was a gift that ceased with the apostolic era.
Years ago a wpoman pastor that I knew spoke toungues and it was recorded and taken to a college injh town. It was high Hewbrew and this woman did not know Hebrew at all so I know it can happenI grew up with some German speaking family members (mostly English but German thrown in here and there) and they passed away before I was 12. I really didn't know that some of their words were German since I was so little and half the time I wasn't listening to the adults converse anyway. Yet, I know some of that stuck into my brain.
My point with all of this is that at any point in life if we hear a foreign language our brains don't always discard the information. It's stored and could potentially be called forth when we least expect it.
Next time you hear that friend who had a few Hebrew sounding words while speaking, record him. You shouldn't be too much in awe since you've already heard him before. If only a few words are decipherable then I would suspect the brain pulled a fast one and allowed some of that stored information to be purged.
As to the person you heard speaking gibberish...The other person who heard English could have heard a few utterances that sounded like English words and his brain translated it to be true. Ever play Chinese telephone? People are convinced they heard something...but mostly it's just twisted.
It would be great if you could record your friends some time

I will not engage you but yes I knew her very well and tyou may not accept it but there are many women pastors. Perhaps if there were more men qualified by God ansd willing to step up I might agree with you but I do not limit God, He will use a donkey if need be or is that nort true as well?First off, there's no such thing as a woman pastor. Secondly, did you actually hear her, or was story relayed to you?
Also, Hebrew is a known language. And if she was speaking it with no one there to interpret, she was doing so unbiblically.

I'm new here. Thank you for allowing me to speak.
The word of God through Christ, through tongues is utterance that you may or may not understand as it pours out. It seams to not necessarily be gibberish at all to me. It is often in a form of speaking that is slightly different from your standard tongeu in that it is more direct in one way, yet more poetic, or cryptic in another.
That's what I get from it anyway. I have witnessed it, yet not yet in a structural church setting. Thank you. Trust in God.

Please forgive me for what seems off to you. The word mentions babbling, tongues, and the fact that we are not God, but follow his direction. With that being the case, I feel whole heartedly about it. All I can say is that I know it to be true through Christ under God.What informs you that this is even biblical?
