I believe and operate in it. I know not everyone thinks it is for today so was just wondering what everyone believes about this

I don't really understand it, what it is about. Others as well have told me they speak in tongues.

It can be used for a word in church if God so chooses and it can also be used when we know not what to pray for and the spirit [rays through us for us

And then when did you say as an utterance? Did it have any meaning to you?

No someone else interpreted although I have spoken in toungues and interpreted as well. Mostly it is a private prayer language and not used in church much

No. Me thinks that God understands me quite well in the language i speak. In addition He reads my heart for He is a Searcher of our hearts, minds, and thoughts. Lastly, i likes clarity when speaking to God, nothing fuzzy or confusing. I talks to Him like my heavenly Father that He is, and in plain language, just like Jesus spoke and prayed in.

Well we don't even have to pray in words because as we feel emotion we can direct them towards God too. He knows our needs before we tell hm.

I don't believe the Tongues of the Bible is the Tongues of today.

If anything I think it can be off-putting to non-Christians and even Christians if they're meant to feel it's something someone 'achieves' or is 'granted' as a result of X, Y or Z.

God knows everything we ever were and ever will be. I don't feel I need, or should, blurt out syllables and consider it a language, much less an act that's edifying or something that will draw me closer to God.

I see no Scriptural basis to consider Tongues as being present in the world today.

While true about scripture I also see no basis for ir not being for today and Paul talked about him speaking in toungues and never mentioned that it was taken away. You do not earn it or is it special favor as God will give this to any that believe. The Holy Ghost is definitely in operation today

I speak and pray in one language. If I just don't have the words when I pray, my prayer is, "Lord, you know my need right now." Now, my daughter, however, speaks in tongues, she is fluent in 3 languages. Language = tongue

It's never used as an unknown language.
