Good Afternoon!

Church was great this morning. Small congregation so they appreciate my strong voice when I sing :)

Good Afternoon!

Church was great this morning. Small congregation so they appreciate my strong voice when I sing :)

Speaking of singing in church...when I was a child I noticed when singing in church that my mother is tone-deaf, very tone-deaf. Once I noticed it, the more it bothered me and I foolishly became embarrassed and hoped no one besides me would notice. I would sing more loudly to try to mask her voice. Then one day when I was about 12, I looked at my mother's face as she was singing horribly off-key, and I noticed for the first time really how joyful and enthusiastic she looked, and I became embarrassed again, only this time I was embarrassed at myself for having been critical in my mind of her singing. I am so glad I never said anything to her about it, and I decided at that point that her not singing on key was of no importance...sure, it may keep her from being part of the choir, but it shouldn't keep her from being happy as she raised her voice in song for worship.

God loves a joyful noise!!

With a small congregation as ours not everyone knows the hymns as well as I do. My previous church was awesome at using most of the hymns found in the hymnal! Plus I can read music which helps as well. I sing loud, they follow me. I just hate it when I sing the wrong words and it comes across as a little blasphemous like calling Jesus a lion or something!

God loves a joyful noise!!...

Yes, exactly...I heard that said many times, and part of my realization that I shouldn't worry about my mother's singing was that it was not said that God only loves a well-trained perfectly pitched voice. :)

LOL You probably wish it was colder outside?

3 more weeks of work. My countdown begins! It COULD end up only being 2 weeks if I can train these people fast enough :)

LOL! How do you think a pastor would respond if I said, "I am an atheist, but I would like to sing in your choir...can you hook me up, reverend?" :BananaMon:

They may not have an opening in the choir but I'm sure they would have an opening in one of the pews :)

Yes! George and I are forming a choir. He talks all the time so he won't be singing too much ;) At least, the only time he's heard me sing he wasn't listening because he talked the entire time :p

That's a great idea! Everyone sends a soundtrack and then mix it and we can become famous!
