At one point when I lived in a crowded community and went to a bigger church, I wanted to do some speakings on Christian Art History. Except. I'm bashful.

Christian Art is an exposition of God's Word in visible form. Everyone knows Michelangelo's piece in the Sistine chapel. Are there any other pieces that really stand out to you?

Perhaps provide a link of the well known art you refer to.

Nudity?

Wha?

As a good Christi....

I would never...

My mental virginity being at sta....

Oh, goodness. Now I'm going to look at some porn. And it's all your fault. :p

Heh - That painting...Adam sure got the short end of the stick, so to speak. One would think being touched by God would have given him much greater endowments in certain areas...but alas, lol.

Re: Christian art. I know some of the well known art like what is in the link - but otherwise am generally unfamiliar.

Ah, ancient artists and male parts. I read an article last month about why they created their art with their privates being so so small. It's because they wanted to focus on the male intellect instead. See, men don't think with their privates after all!

I think such an article must have been written by a man hating female of the lesbian persuasion or a male with a size complex. :p

Or, you're making it up. :p

The only man who doesn't think with his privates at least some of the time is a eunuch.

Or - one of the ever virgin males of another forum that have finally become virtual eunuchs through spouting NT scripture endlessly in an attempt to give the impression that they are, indeed, penisless.

Such individuals do not do art, either. :p

How can one not do art? ;)

I don't know if the article was true but if you look through "art" history, you'll see that the male privates were always less than generous.

I always kind of interpreted the diminutive male privates in art as a form of modesty.

I have always felt that some of the most beautiful art are the cathedrals themselves...very artistic architecture.

Why isn't this a featured thread??? LOL I'm joking of course because, well. Yeah.

Are there any Christian art pieces that stand out in your mind?

Christian art has been used to teach people about the bible. I love looking at stained glass windows and try to pick out all the biblical aspects in each scene.

The metaphor 'fig leaf' is actually derived from the alternative way to depict the article.

The Sainte Chapelle, Paris, has probably among the most impressive of stained glass windows.
