Do you believe that the faithful will share the divine nature and what do you think it means for a creature to become a god (not God almighty but a god)?

2Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Yes, if Christ is in us and we are in Him we will be gods, little g, not now but afterwards when we have our glorified bodies

I have a quote I found from a guy named Tim Wood:

The theosis attraction is because we despise / diminish the doctrine of vocation. It’s not good enough to serve our neighbor – we want to serve God and have him thank us for it.

But to understand theosis is to understand that it comes by humility, repentance and charity. Theosis and vocation are intimately interwoven together and not in oppositon with each other.

Theosis is viewed slightly different within each denomination.

That's interesting I didn't know that. That would be an interesting subject.

In theosis do you become your own god like how the Mormons believe or do you become one with God because I'm confused by this and never understood it when my orthodox friends talked about it with me a long time ago.

As a fully adopted member of the family of God, I think that while we are not God Himself, we are as Yeshua put it "Ye are gods" and the meaning to me means that without sin we are in His image in all aspects whether it is word, deed, spirit, and mind.
