The holy scriptures of Christianity urge Christians to be of the same mind having the same faith.

2Corinthians 13:11-13 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 12 Greet one another with an holy kiss. 13 All the saints salute you.

In Buddhism being of one mind means achieving nirvana which - if I am not mistaken - means absorption into a state of being in which no individual human being or animal or plant or any other earthly living thing exists. Rather a unity of being and consciousness that is universal is the ultimate aim in which self is lost as an irrelevance.

Other religions may have a similar ultimate state of unity with the divine.

There are many science fiction stories in which a world being of some kind exists. A being that encompasses every living thing on a world or on many worlds. Arthur C Clarke's Childhood's End is one such story. Isaac Asimov's short story Green Patches and his novel Nemesis are also of this kind.

Do you think that Union with Christ may be a similar view?

It is possible we do know that we will have glorified bodies and that we will be in the presence of God this could all mean that we become one just as marriage as in the marriage supper

I don't think the RCC is "one" with anything in any way - except with IT ITSELF uniquely, solely, only, singularly, individually (thus in DISUNITY in all things with all BUT it itself alone).

PART of the "problem" is the enormous egoism that overtook Christianity every early on.... this propensity to think God doesn't have the 'last word', I do (man being smarter than God). PART of the problem is the very Roman obsession with power, control that the Roman Church assumed and perfected (this obession with I'M the only God leads, I'M the one God protects, I'M the one God teaches, I'M infallible, I'M unaccountable, I'M the Authority, God must agree with ME). And PART of it is the very Roman obsession with institutionalism (confusing some human institution with the church, with Christianity, even with God).

I came across something the other day concerning Fruit of the Spirit.
When considering the verses you selected I would like to add Phillipians 2;2.
I sugest something may be missing.
Joy.

Actually in Buddhism their religion takes them to the brazen lavar where they can look at themselves in the brass all day whereas Christianity takes one past the brazen altar and into the Holy of Holies. So no because Buddhism is very lacking. I had a friend who was a Buddhist priestess and we used to compare notes. It was quite interesting.

A priestess? I was under the impression that Buddhism had monks (and I guess 'nuns' too) but no priests or priestesses.

I don't think she was lying to me, and I'm pretty sure it was Buddist faith she belonged to. Maybe Tao, I don't know
