Those who have faith are saints. It's just that we're also in these bodies that cannot be sinless yet since we're the clay still being worked on by God.

no body said the body can be sinless .. the body is flesh and blood .. it does not inherit the kingdom of god .. nither is it to be the master of us that we might serve its sinful desires .
for we are new creations in christ .. called told instructed and commanded to not live after the nature of the flesh but after the Holy Spirit .. his nature is perfect and will not sin.

its just simply whats written .. we dont have to understand it .. but we certainly are not to reject it simply because our experience doesnt yet match it . we are called told, instructed and commanded to put to death the old nature .. not obey it . we are not told to do something we cannot do .. but something that chrsit has already empowered us to do .
to become overcomers .. because he has already over come .

No Scripture says we cease sinning. It says NO ONE is righteous, no, not even one. If ANYONE claims to be without sin, he is a LIAR. Scripture does tell us to not sin (LAW) but the Law does not cancel out, eliminate, destroy the GOSPEL and render Christ, the Cross a worthless joke and render God unfaithful to His promises.

Thus, our friends' CONSTANT, perpetual rant in many different threads that Christians don't sin is not only unbiblical but of course obviously WRONG which is why he can't produce the name of even one - not even one person out of 7.3 BILLION living persons on the Planet Earth - who has ceased to sin, who never misses the mark ("sin") and thus always hits the mark (24/7, perfectly, absolutely) - proving his point wrong. And it also mandates that he dilutes or destroys both Law and Gospel (and thus Christianity) as he constantly does, promoting instead the soteriology of Bhakti Hinduism (we render ourselves such that NEED NO forgiveness, mercy, forgiveness, Gospel, Cross, Blood, Christ, Savior by adequately tapping divine HELP to cease sin).

i see you've posted this lie (in red) a number of times in a number of threads ..

here is scripture again then .. a number of times .

But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

how does that match up to your claim that no scripture says we cease to sin josiah ..??? your just so annoyed that you're not evening taking a breath to read what is actualy says .

I bet Josiah in return could call your interpretation of scripture a lie indeed since you mix up and mess Law and Gospel and translations and then can't give him a single name of someone who has stopped sinning and we don't mean only stopping your porn addiction.

you keep calling Josiah out so lets ask this

Alithis, do you know God then?

i'm not calling him out .. im calling the lie out . we are ALL supposed to do this . in this age of information where we can double check such things with great ease ..there is little excuse for such HUGE error . - if i didn't call it out ,some people who dont read the bible would go about thinking it was not in the bible because he said it wasn't .... but IT IS . and more then once
it was posted that the bible does not say ......
so i posted where the bible says it ...

(and its not the first time .. last time it was posted that the words obey the gospel were not in the bible
so i posted the two warnings about the peril we are in of we do not .."obey the gospel " ..

and i would expect any one to do the same to me if i post such error saying something is not in scripture when it plainly is .
i recall a time on CF when i posted a comment about communion .. and was asked where the bible states that .. and i was embarrassed to find i had quoted a traditional perception and not the actual scriptures.

I returned to that thread and apologised profusely to all for my error .
----

as to your question - what do you perceive the words "know god ' - to mean ..do you mean know all there is to know about god ? who can ?
do you mean know him in the sense of being reconciled to him and having an intimate relationship with him in the Holy Spirit who knows all things and searched out the deep things of the heart ..? who that has been born again of the holy Spirit does not ?

Thanks for proving yourself wrong. The SAINT and Apostle wrote to CHRISTIANS and stated, "if ANYONE (seems kinda inclusive, huh?) claims (present tense) to be (present tense) without sin, he is a LIAR and deceives only himself.

No Scripture says we cease sinning. It says NO ONE is righteous, no, not even one. If ANYONE claims to be without sin, he is a LIAR. Scripture does tell us to not sin (LAW) but the Law does not cancel out, eliminate, destroy the GOSPEL and render Christ, the Cross, the Gospel a worthless joke and render God unfaithful to His promises.

Thus, your CONSTANT, perpetual rant in many different threads that Christians don't sin is not only unbiblical but of course obviously WRONG which is why you can't produce the name of even one - not even one single living person out of 7.3 BILLION living persons on the Planet Earth - who has ceased to sin, who never misses the mark ("sin") and thus always hits the mark (24/7, perfectly, absolutely) - proving the foundation of your theology to be wrong (and Scripture to be right). It is YOUR claim (not Scripture) that some cease to sin. IF you are right, then it's easy for you to post the names of at least 10 (I've ONLY asked for just TEN - out of 7.3 BILLION - should be uber-easy!) who have ceased to sin. You can't list even one.... not even one..... not one person out of 7.3 BILLION..... not one person on the entire planet Earth who has ceased to sin..... heck, you even stopped implying YOU are the only one who has actually ceased to sin when I suggested you ask your wife to confirm that (you not only didn't do that but stopped implying that YOU are the one out of 7.3 billion who has ceased to sin).

Your attempt to destroy the Law in your passionate opposition to it (done to render the Gospel irrelevant and to promote the soteriology of Bhatki Hinduism) is obviously wrong or there would be walking around these sinless/perfect people. As you admit by your inability to name even one, even just one, even a single individual out of 7.3 BILLION living people - that alone proves your theology wrong. Friend, Bhatki Hinduism is WRONG. Christianity is RIGHT. Law AND Gospel are BIG and real and apply - one doesn't "trump" or destroy the other, and they do not cancel each other out as you seem to imply. Your promoting of the soteriology of Bhatki Hinduism and your denounciation of that of Christianity is disturbing and I won't let it stand.

Yes, the LAW states, "CEASE SIN!" But the GOSPEL promise, "God FORGIVES sin" You know of NO ONE who has ceased sin..... nonetheless, you insist on denying the Gospel by your foundational point that the Law renders it irrelevant (a big joke) since we don't have any sin for God to forgive, self don't need no God, no mercy, no forgiveness, no salvation, no Savior, no Christ cuz self is perfect, sinless.

If I had an hour longer for my lunch then I would enlighten you on why your interpretation of the verses doesn't take into consideration what other scripture states and how ya can't base your theology on one verse and run with it claiming but God said it because I have seen murderers and rapists try to use God's Word to defend what they believe too. But law and gospel in the right sense will clear it all up.

Thanks again for proving my point. NO Scripture - ever - says that anyone ceases to sin. Certainly John never said that! A few verses later he wrote to Christians insisting, "If ANYONE (seems kinda inclusive, huh?) claims (present tense) to be (present tense) without sin (ceased sin), that one is (present tense) a LIAR (seems clear, huh?). Paul wrote to Christians and stated, "NO ONE (seems kinda inclusive, don't you think?) is (present tense) righteous, no, not even one (thus, the reason you can't post the names of 10 sinless people - because there isn't even one).

You quote Law, twist it horribly, then subject the Gospel to it - all in your effort to oppose and destroy both Law and Gospel.

If we read only the verses that Alithis is showing us it would appear his theology is on point and then comes Josiah to make sense of it all and expose the truth by using the rest of what scripture says and even the author of that specific writing piece. Ya gotta ask yourself when looking at scripture and theology of whether your ideas go against what other parts of scripture says and if they do then what is wrong, is it you or scripture? If it's you rethink your thoughts and humble yourself right?

umm this continues to get more embarrassing .. first you say "the scripture does not say any one ceases to sin ..."

then i post you scriptures that says ... But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

then- you out right deny the scripture .

then you tell me A few verses later he wrote to Christians insisting, "If ANYONE (seems kinda inclusive, huh?) claims (present tense) to be (present tense) without sin (ceased sin), that one is (present tense) a LIAR.. BUT ... firstly he writes that earlier in his letter not later .. and he is writing to one who is 'coming to God in his sin to confess his sin for forgiveness.. which you cant do if you dont admit you have it . ...then he goes on to speak about those ,who , having come to god admitting their sin and received forgiveness (and as paul states are made a new creation in chrsit and are now .. (where as they were not before ) born of god . do not Continue in sin . no one has said any one is "without sin"

you've simply displayed that you neither accept scripture nor beleive it to be True .and all for what purpose ?
what is it you are defending..? you are defending you SIN ... that my friend is NOT a repentant state -hat is a state of rebellion .

and back on ignore you go! .. because if you are going to blatantly post that the bible doesn't say something .. when any one with the ability to read can read that IT DOES SAY IT .. then either the bible or you are a liar .. and it is not the bible .

Because it doesn't, you keep proving it yourself. The LAW says we ARE to cease sinning (which is the message of the Law - although you seem SO opposed to it as to destroy it). But John does NOT say that we DO cease, he states (and I quote) as he writes to CHRISTIANS, "if anyone (seems pretty all-inclusive, don't you think?) claims (present tense) to be (present tense) without sin (no longer sinning), he LIES (present tense) and DECEIVES only himself." Saint Paul writes to CHRISTIANS and states, "NO ONE (seems fairly inclusive, huh?) is (present tense) righteousness (without sin), NO, NO ONE." You ignore all these verses because you oppose the Law and it destroys your self-righteousness, your pride, your defense of looking to yourself rather than to the Cross.

What you continue to do is confuse, mix, entangle, twist Law and Gospel..... watering both down to next to nothing..... destroying Christianity in the basis, promoting what is simply a slight variation of the soteriology of Bhakti Hinduism. It's insulting to Christ, it's destructive of Christianity. Bhatki Hinduism is wrong. No matter how any Scriptures who pull out of context, twist into something it's not in this effort to destroy Christianity and promote the soteriology of Bhatki Hindusim.

What is important to me is having the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all areas of my life and the means of the Holy Spirit to guide me is bringing to remembrance the things of Christ. I have a good memory for recalling scripture and, I think, very adapt at discerning false doctrine but in my day to day experience with life I need so many reminders to bring my thoughts into captivity to the mind of Christ. If I'm not in touch with scripture on a daily bases then thinking can easily error. The Holy Spirit can clarify what we know to the circumstances of the moment, but life comes from hearing the word.
