It's not about egoism for these females. I had many socks on the other forum. Some of them were good at picking me out. Yet, I know they were not always correct. I'd see people called a sock or a troll and sometimes they'd get banned. Maybe they were a sock or troll of someone else, maybe they broke a rule, and it might have been one of mine. I've learned enough on that forum to evade detection on any forum, because of all the tools they use to catch banned members. The one thing that is hardest to change is writing style, and if you really want to be someone else, you have to change not only all your technical data (IP, browser details, date/time, HTML5 Canvas imaging etc) but your writing style and certain opinions. That's tough - but I managed to do it with a few accounts before they were eventually caught. It became a game for me.
One of the reasons I listed any sock that had any sort of reasonable post count (although a few of the ones listed cannot be searched as all their posts were erased) was to show who I was and who I was not. I am not the only person to have socks on that board. Far from it. And as I said before, some of my biggest accusers were major hypocrites because they also had socks. To total amount of my socks is not listed, but the majority of the others had a very small or 0 post count and were banned and the posts erased.
The board, in some ways, is a joke. It's hard to be real there. And certain perceived popular or influential members opinions on what or should or shouldn't be considered "Christian" became a joke. For instance, a female I was involved with (one of the ones referred to) made a huge deal over what I would consider relatively harmless sexual innuendos. So when I got banned and used socks, I made a point of making a lot of them - just to mock the board and their catering to certain individuals who could have just ignored me instead of complaining about everything.
In any case, one of the clans of the board finally left and started their own, and actually posted to quite a few places around the web. All those places (the ones I know about anyway) are now inactive, or mostly so. It seems they couldn't turn that place into heaven so they created their own - except - it's now abandoned or maybe they got smart and started using private boards.
About my imagining they watch my posts - that's not my paranoia. I cannot show proof but at least one of them has been communicating subtly via FB posts and quick changes (and change back) of her profile picture or background picture. If the tiger knows I post here, then so do her friends.
