I would love to see Australia but 8 hours in a plane is pushing what I can tolerate so the thought of multiple back-to-back 8-hour flights is enough to put me off. Maybe some day I'll win the lottery, cruise to Sydney, disembark and spend a few weeks or months until the next cruise ship comes through, then cruise back home.

I have family in Tasmania, but I've never been there.
Now with kids even Belgium is too far away and the travel too much of a fuzz.

If someone would invent a hypersonic jet that would get to Sydney in an hour or two at a sensible price I'd be there.

Yes me too. I heard that the nature is marvellous there. A guy I worked with went to hike there once. But I'm too lazy to hike. Just watched a video from some hikers and thought: thanks that you walked. Now I've seen it.
Lol I saw a vodaphone commercial of a Dutch twin, one emigrated to Australia, hadn't seen each other in 26 years. Then the one in Holland said: I don't go there. What for? I've seen it on tv hahahahaha.

A video is a poor substitute for setting it yourself.

The climate in the south of Oz is rather nice. The tropics are ... tropical and that means warm to hot and humid. Those who visit usually enjoy themselves. I like living here. We seem to have more freedoms than folk in the USA (I did live in the USA both as a child and as a working adult).

Maybe some day.

Right now I'm too busy peeking through classroom windows in Van Nuys. Looking for pencils. And erasures.

*snicker* :pound:

i reiterate ..it is a great place to visit -highly recommend the GC.(gold coast)

a winter of 18 to 24 degress C .. hardly anything to cry about haha .
you can eat at restaurants with ocean views , Hike in wilderness hinterlands , go to a theme park and be at a mall all within an hour or so of most accommodations .,.. cant sniff at that :D

in contrast my little NZ is absolutely stunning in greenery and sights .. but its takes so long to get from top to bottom to really see it ,theme parks are not to be visited (embarrassingly so )but the bungy jumping is awesome ..iv heard haha .

60mph for 23 minutes, and a price tag of $200,000?

For 200 grand I'd just take a first class flight to Oz.

Oh I forgot to look at the price lol. I'll go bike then.
