I have not been there, the nearest I ever got was a brief hour or two stop over in Tehran. That was on a flight from London to Perth.

I'd like to see the significant sites and churches in the area. But it is too unstable and too war torn for a safe visit and I do not feel drawn strongly enough to go under such circumstances.

Never been but I would love to. Closest I ever got was southern Turkey in the service I was about 100 miles from mthe syrian border

i would love to visit israel ..other members of my family have been and loved it .
statistically speaking ,you're more likely to get shot in the usa then in Israel so its not so bad .
