Seems that - according to visionary - the dead know nothing. That is a belief of many non-Christian religions but it is not a Christian belief, right?

Yes, that story does point to continued conscious existence even among the condemned in fiery torments and certainly among the blessed in Abraham's bosom.

Seems to me that being both conscious and asleep is not really possible.

I agree, of course we are a triune being so the spirit returns unto God from whence it came from, the soul goes where it should, and the body goes to the grave
