When a man and woman come together to consumate a marriage, is it only symbolic or are they truly one? Baptism isn't the same as a ring because a ring is something for show but baptism isn't for show since it's God giving us all the blessings that come from the cross. It actually happens to us.

We will all physically die won't we but some of us will have eternal life, and have new bodies, so yes, we do die and we do have new life.

Baptism is not done is secret, it is done as not only for personal commitment but also as a witness to that conversion.

True but lets not bring in something else to muddy the waters, it says that we are baptised into His death which is symbolic and not literal but if you want to interpret it as literal then we die when we are baptized do we not?

Romans chapter six does not say a word about your body dying, does it? You've been saying "literally" by which I presume you mean "physically" but since the passage does not mention physical bodily death your use of "literally" to mean "physically" is at best misleading. So I maintain that Romans chapter six teaches exactly what it says and there is no disjunction between what is said and what baptism accomplishes.

Romans chapter six doesn't discuss bodily death specifically so your use of that chapter doesn't help your case against "this is my body" meaning exactly what it says.

Does it not say taking unworithly leads to death and according to your church I would be taking unworthily although they are in error on that. By not properly discerning what He bought and paid for would be taking unworthily and it says to examine yourself, not have someone else dictate it for you.

Saint Paul says that unworthy partaking is eating and drinking judgement on one's self. He observed that many were sick in Corinth and some had died because of so doing.

According to your own doctrine you're partaking in a symbolic ritual. I'll leave it to you to decide if partaking in a symbolic ritual unworthily is eating and drinking judgement to one's self.
