Young messiah

While waiting for Risen to start at the theater they showed the trailer for Young messiah.

The trailer really didn't grab my attention so I'll probably wait for the DVD.

My thinking is there is only a couple of references in the bible about Jesus' childhood so the film makers are going to take a lot of liberties making this movie.

I just looked up some stuff about this movie and it's based on Anne Rice's book Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt. She wrote the novel after returning to the Catholic church.

Yeah.... although it will be interesting how all this made up stuff "jibes" with Catholicism (for example, the "brothers and sisters" issue).

I'll never forget watching "The Passion of the Christ" (all done by a Catholic) and several Catholic ideas were contradicted (most notably, that Joseph was at least 30 - 40 years OLDER than Mary... in the movie, he was about Mary's age)

Seriously? I have the movie yet never could bring myself to watch it (Passion of the Christ). I don't like when there are things like that in movies because people remember those things and start considering them as truth. There was a book I started reading once...I think it was called The Red Tent and it had such glaring errors about biblical history that I had to throw it down in disgust.
