Back home we had a trail that was over 9 miles from my house to the end and I would ride my bike there and back but always wanted to walk it. I was afraid of being in the sun for so long since there was no shade really and getting heat stroke. I think maybe where I live now it might be more feasible since some of the trails are in the woods.

You could make your own trail, sometimes the path less used is the prettyist

I can't wait to get back to hiking too! My body is used to sitting around in front of a computer at work so it's going to be rough on me.

Started going for shortish walks around town. Just 2-3 miles or so, but a few interesting hills to climb along the way. I always thought this valley was more or less flat until I started walking and cycling around it. You don't notice hills except the really big ones when you're driving.

You really need to take plenty of water when hiking in the heat. Last time I did a monster walk it was supposed to be about 15 miles but because I lost a trail I was running late and had to rethink so I wouldn't be descending a rocky trail in failing light, which turned it into 21 miles. I took a gallon of water and drank probably 2/3 of it.

I live in a hilly region :D Walking around the block is up and down hills and takes 50 minutes! LOL

I have a camelbak that I take on really long walks and it was the best gift anyone ever got me!

I love the hills. I grew up on flat ground and never realized how dull it was. It's so pretty where I live now and I keep hoping my family will move here too!

That's why I use a trainer in my basement year round ;)

I have an indoor bicycle as well. The trouble is it's just so dull compared to proper cycling. I used to jump on the bike and ride 40-50 miles and not really think twice, but that was in flatter areas than this. Now 30 miles feels like a lot. Some of the bigger hills around here really take it out of me.

Hi Romanos!!

Yeah, it's not as exciting indoors but I don't have to fear any cars hitting me.

Round here cars are usually pretty good at leaving lots of space when passing.

Around here we have no extra space with the hills and no shoulders. Yikes. Scary stuff.

I miss my old bike trail!! Once I get a mountain bike I can ride some of the gravel trails out where I live now.
