In ancient times God's people shouted their praises, and used all sorts of intruments in praise and worship.

Amen, and He calls us to dance before Him---because He Himself dances and twirls over us with joy.

Show us where.

You've already been shown where, but let me add more.

Psalm 47:1
Come, everyone! Clap your hands!
Shout to God with joyful praise!

Also, if all Creation is called to do so, then not one human being should ever think themselves too high and mighty that they would disdain it or refrain from it.

Psalm 98:8
Let the rivers clap their hands in glee!

Isaiah 55:12
You will live in joy and peace.
The mountains and hills will burst into song,
and the trees of the field will clap their hands!

Luke 19:39-40
Some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples [for shouting these Messianic praises].” 40 Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these [people] keep silent, the stones will cry out [in praise]!”
Let the hills sing out their songs of joy

Since we were discussing Psalm 47 and no mention of worship is in the psalm I suppose that your answer is "no I can't show you where any detail of worship is commanded in the psalm"

Rock concerts stir the emotions and when done in church people want to believe that it is the Holy Spirit yet in other rock concerts you can see that same emotional effect take place. It's all about feeling good right? Of course worship can be quiet and somber and God is present but some people think that the flashier the better and the bigger crowd will attend.

It isn't about "feeling good". It's about bringing praise and worship to our Father. We are to do it with abandon and in the Spirit. When we truly are in the Spirit and not withholding ourselves, He comes. He comes in with His mighty power as well as great delight in us, and joins in with us. It is hardly ever a solemn occasion. It's a little of heaven on earth. That is what TRUE worship does.

Haha, by some of the comments here, I don't think many will like it in heaven!

You cannot worm your way out of a command.

Show us where.

NO! You show where it doesn't. You said yourself that the Psalm says what it means, and you were unable to argue against what it said.

All people, clap your hands. Shout in triumph to God with joyful cries.

For Jehovah the Most High is awe-inspiring;
He is the great King over all the earth.

He subdues peoples under us; He puts nations under our feet.

He chooses our inheritance for us,The pride of Jacob, whom he loves. (Selah)

God has ascended amid joyful shouting;
Jehovah, amid the sound of the horn.

Sing praises to God, sing praises.
Sing praises to our King, sing praises.

For God is King of all the earth;
Sing praises, and show insight.

God has become King over the nations.

God sits on his holy throne.
The leaders of the peoples have gathered together With the people of the God of Abraham.
For the rulers of the earth belong to God.He is highly exalted. (Psalm 47:1-9)

Where's any command about worship in the psalm?

Worship brings praise to God. Are you now blind?

I seek only accuracy and honesty in dealing with the holy scriptures and I eschew the low standards of 'proof' you allow for your claims. First you say that clapping and shouting by the people is worship but the psalm tells us it is praise and then you say we are commanded to clap and shout when the psalm urges rejoicing because of Jehovah's great works on behalf of Israel. You confuse words (worship with praise) and you change meanings but you do not admit your mistakes, instead you call me names and you make round about accusations against those in the thread who do not join you in affirming inaccurate claims.

My proofs are from the word of God alone. You bluster about it, trying to squirm out from under. I don't call people names, but I do zero in well on those who set aside what God says in favour of what one's religion says.

Yep. Worship of God is between the believer and God, and God accepts worship when it is given wholeheartedly, and relishes it when we worship with abandon!

Holy Spirit pours His presence and power upon His people and gifts people with great ability to create music that elicits worship of God in people's hearts. The result us that the presence of God comes into such a gathering. He says He inhabits our praise. I experience this every time I worship God in song at my own church.

But that has nothing to do with Jesus Culture.

Some pop concerts border on the absurd, consider this video taken from a charismatic/pentecostal/new-apostolic meeting.

Seeing "Morningstar" on the video is all I need to not bother watching it. I have yet to see anything from Rick Joyner that sounds better than absurd. I'm looking for a cheap used copy of his book The Final Quest to check a few quotes attributed to him because if they are true then I'd struggle to conclude anything other than that he is following the wrong spirit entirely.

Yeah, it does. When Spirit-filled and Spirit-led worship leaders are doing what they've been called to do, Holy Spirit comes.
