In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Hail full of Grace, the Lord is with you!" (Luke 1:26-28)
The underlined words are used as the start of the Ave Maria with one addition - that being the name of the virgin which is Mary. Some object to the Ave Maria for various reasons but the words for it are taken from holy scripture except for the last part which is a petition for prayer to be said to the Lord our God. The rest of the Ave Maria is found in these verses
In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leapt in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, 'Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. (Luke 1:39-42)
