Original Community Service Ideas

I have friends who live in apartments and during the past snow storm their shovels were stolen (at least 4 different people!). I think it would be a neat idea for community service to hand out shovels to those in apartment areas that still need to shovel out their cars, stairs, whatever the complex won't do.

What kind of original community service ideas can you come up with?

What kind of original community service ideas can you come up with?

Stairs might be easier to clear with a broom?

If the complex won't clear driveways and parking areas maybe a guy with a plow-equipped ATV could clear the areas more easily than handing out shovels.

In urban areas going to the store for older folks so they don't have to walk on the ice could be useful. At my last church one of the older ladies had major heart issues and when we had snow and ice I used to tell her to give us her shopping list and we'd get it when we did our shopping. We were going out anyway and it meant she didn't have to contend with trying to keep steady on the ice.

I just wish it was a way to bold up the font. I strain to read it. It looks gray and faint to me.I don't know if others feel that the font is too light or not. It would be interesting to test to see what others think.

Have you tried out the other site themes that can be found at the bottom left of the screen? I view the site on 3 different computers plus my phone and have no problems seeing the type.

I am unable to change the font or the colour through my profile settings. It just doesn't work. I have tried using the other themes. Right now I am using Blue Tang.

What is the resolution of your computer screen? I sometimes change my browser font size (not here, but in other places) by holding down the control button and scrolling up with my mouse until it's a size I like.

I do that, but I sure would like a nice colour! I thought there was a minimum number of posts one had to have to be able to make such changes, and so I waited...and waited....and still cannot make it work.

We don't have the option to change the font size that you see for all posts, but you can change your own. I sent you a gift from the CH Shop to try it out!

The feature isn't available in Canada

Seriously, take a look at the different themes at the very bottom left of the page. I use Morbid Blue which has a curious name but it works for me. It looks like some of the others may have a bit more contrast between the text and the background.

It's not the theme I have trouble with. It's the colour of the font I would like to change. Thanks muchly, Lammchen, for your gift! I will now try to see how to manage this CH Shop thing!

Oops! I missed your first question! I accessed the CH gift that Lammchen sent to me which enabled me to change my font colour and character, but not the font itself. I still don't understand why we can't do it by the normal means through our settings.

It's done through an item in the shop which has the options attached to each item.
