Some people wear a cross and some a crucifix as a public and visible sign that they are Christian. The jewellery does not make a person a Christian and sometimes the way a person behaves can shame the name of Christ because they wear a sign but I am interested to know if you wear a cross for the purpose of visible public testimony to your Christian faith?

I have a cross that my husband gave me as well as a Bethel Bible Study pendant that I received at the end of the 2 year study and I used to wear them together all the time. I found that at work I would pull on the pieces constantly while concentrating and then the chain was leaving red marks on the back of my neck. So I don't wear them anymore.

Once I stop working I'm sure I'll return to wearing them. The cross is pretty straight forward what it means, but the Bethel Bible Study pendant is unique so it's a great conversation starter!

I recently acquired a nice one (for $1 from China), that I wear but I don't tug on its chain.

I wear a cross mainly for personal reasons. In fact I typically wear it under my shirt because I have a very physical job and don't want it swinging around.

I use to wear a Crucifix ALL THE TIME (I even slept with it). I still have that Cross but I don't wear it all the time now. I should.

I have no need to.

I wear nothing. I neither have any tattoos or any outward signs of faith.

I have considered, however, buying a Seed of Life necklace - because it is a symbol that represents something important in my life. I have recently learned that NASA has adopted it. Unfortunate. NASA deserves a jester symbol for their many lies, not something spiritual and important to mankind that they co-opted adopted for their own purposes.

I do not and most likely will never wear a gold or silver cross or crucifix. Not against others wearing, but it isn't fitting for me.

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.

I don't wear a cross. I have nothing against people who do but so many people wear them as little more than fashion statements I don't see that wearing one would identify me as a Christian. If I'm going to be identified I'd rather it was because of who I am and what I do than the thing around my neck.

I used to, it had a tiny little Jesus statue nailed to it. I ended up taking it off because my friends I knew at the time were showing me scripture about not having graven images. They also asked me is Jesus alive or dead. Alive I said and they said why do I have Jesus dead on the cross? They had a point. Jesus was raised from the dead and is still nailed to the cross.
That said, I don't judge anyone who wears them. If they're Christian, I can understand why they'd wear one. If they're not Christian and wearing a cross, then great! that gives me an ice breaker where I could say 'your necklace/tattoo/etc reminds me of when Jesus saved me' and may have an opportunity to share the Gospel.

That's an interesting thought although I'd say the fact Jesus isn't still on the cross today doesn't mean he wasn't there for a time. There could be no resurrection without death occurring first.
