By all means yes! Let's look at it some more! I am having trouble understanding the concept of preachers/pastors should not be rich and show it, but others can be rich and show it. It just sounds like a double standard to me.
i guess it would be defined by excess .. i recall that those in positions of servanthood (today it erroneously gets called leadership) are to walk to a "higher" standard then others due to the fact that notoriety can cause the to be observed more then the rest of us .therefore they are under a greater responsibility to not bring shame to the Gospel.
and lets be honest- it is the mega rich which have been observed doing that the most . materialistically thinking - living righteously and justly is defined not by the things we have but what
we do with the things we have . ie - if one man has 20 loaves of bread and a man is at his door who has none .. and knowing this he does nothing about it .he is acting unjustly -he is hording his
excess unto himself .
so perhaps if we see this pastor budget cutting and skimping on missions funding or local society good works ..yet always demanding inflationary salary increases while already having ample sufficiency already -- we would perhaps want to look closer into that . ?
or there is the case where they brought a private jet and then justified it as needing some where private to pray (becaseu thier multi million dollar house doesnt have enough "closets " or somthing ) ..that would warrant looking into .
