Curious..... could the fact that (as far as we know) none have been hit before suggest God's loving providence? Silly me.... of course not.

I would think so. Seems like God's providence would suffer a bad reputation if he started knocking people out by throwing rocks at them. (which He does promise He will do in the end). I wonder what those stones are going to look like?

I have read from scholars that during the Tribulation, there will be hailstones as big as cars.

Yeah, but that is ice, it will melt. I was thinking the meteors (stars dropping like late figs) that will fall. What will they look like? I wonder if they will look anything like this stone that killed this man in the article?

But millions of 1 to 2-ton hailstones falling all over the earth at once will kill. I would consider them as meteors, also, coming from the hand of God, and not from weather conditions, necessarily. And yes, meteors, literal rocks from the heavens will also fall. I believe that what with the extreme heat of friction traveling at great speeds through the atmosphere, that they will be molten and pure and resemble a precious stone in the end, also. But alas, no one will be in the mood or able to appreciate their value---that is, until the saints come with Christ to reign and rule with Him in His Millennial Kingdom---and maybe the nations who survive will benefit!

What if our Father sends precious stones to Earth for use when Lord Jesus sets up his Kingdom on Earth? He is Jehovahjireh . It is just a thought that I had not thunk before.:rotfl:

It could happen! We will begin the Millennium with a whole lot of destruction to set right. Sometimes I wonder if 1000 years will be enough time for that!

Well, if the analysis of this stone that fell comes back that it is a precious stone of the diamond quality, which I hope it will, then I don't mind them falling. I hope the authorities compensate the man's family handsomely. Oh, Oh, Here is another thought I just thunk.:rotfl: What if this is a test?

I also hope that the family gets some consideration.

Can you explain what you are getting at about it being a test? I am certain that to those who choose to view it as one, then it is, and that can be a good thing. I also believe though, that to God nothing is random. So, we are going to have to reconcile all these things, somehow, and as the coming of Jesus is so very close, I do believe we will see more and more of these rather odd events occurring.

I just looked at a photo of the chunk, and what first comes to mind is that airline toilet water is blue isn't it? Airliners often eject this material at a great height, and it falls as ice, but perhaps this stuff has freeze-dried!

Can you explain what you are getting at about it being a test? I am certain that to those who choose to view it as one, then it is, and that can be a good thing. Sure, it was just a thought, but what if our Father did send it, and it is precious? What if the government confiscates it and does not compensate the family? I could see our Father being very angry at that. What if it is a test to give the governments a chance to do right by the people?

Truly, my point of view is that God doesn't really give a fig for governments, although human government was His idea to implement...but He is interested mainly in the individual He loves. so, hopefully this even will cause people to "look up, for our redemption draweth nigh"---even if it might be a bit of feeeze-dried airline toilet antiseptic!

Maybe He does not, but He does love mankind, sinners even. Therefore He gives them the opportunity to do the right thing. Stones falling from the sky could mean everything or nothing. It was just one of those thoughts bouncing around in my head.

However scripture does say this, so we must reconcile that fact:

Romans 13:1
Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

There were Kings in other nations before Israel was established as a nation. Abimelech was king of Gerar during Abraham's lifetime. Reconcile it this way, God told Samuel this.

1Samuel8:7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

So God allows human government.

But surprising it doesn't happen more often. We have LOTS of cases of cars being hit, houses being hit.... many of them. But somehow, people have been missed. Until.....

I've seen the big hole in Arizona. Been there. If anyone had been standing there and hit by this, they'd be dead. REAL dead. But of course, it hit some 30,000 years ago, perhaps before any people were in the area.

I see the grace of God in all this... Tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes,....etc... and yet the number of people killed is surprisingly small.... God's hand is over us, preventing the devil a whole sale slaughter. Miracles they are.

There are some churches where the glory of God manifests and people are blessed with gemstones and gold dust. I've never experienced it personally, and I do wonder about it, but I do believe it is possible for this to happen, especially as the Kingdom of God is very near.

Did any of them allow the material to be analysed?

I saw one report on a web site (and so every aspect of it is potentially suspect) that included a claim that gold particles had fallen from the ceiling and the analysis was in keeping with Scriptural references to oil. But sadly the analysis suggested they were made of plastic, and essentially what they had was more or less gold glitter.

The only places I've personally heard of this sort of thing happening are churches with teachings that are suspect so I have to say I'm very skeptical that it's anything to do with God's glory.
