So do any of you use a slowcooker?

If yes, what brand do you favor? are there great tips for a beginning user?

Yes, I do, a nice quick and easy way to make a meal. Dont use it often but sometimes. As for tips I would get a slowcooker book and try some recipes. Follow directions and you will have a delicious meal

I never saw this thread til now!

I have a slowcooker and I don't know the brand but I've had it for a while. I like to make chili in it as well as Italian beef for sandwiches.

Tips ? Not everything is done well in a slow cooker. I've noticed that smaller recipes don't do well in a large slow cooker.

I use mine to cook pork shoulder (aka Boston butt) and turn it into pulled pork.

A chopped onion, chopped clove of garlic, cover the butt with Tony Cacherie's seasoning, and cook on low for 6 hours or thereabouts. Then shred the meat with forks and put barbecue sauce to taste on it.

I have always had a dislike for seafood until we moved (I really don't want to share where we live now for privacy purposes though) and now we have fresh crab and OH MY!!! So good. So expensive too!
