Many years ago I bought my wife an enormous Easter egg. It was called an Ostrich Egg and it was sufficiently thick that when I hit it with a toffee hammer all that happened was a tiny piece chipped off. Then I hit it hard with the back edge of a kitchen knife, which did nothing. In the end the only way we managed to break the shell was to hit it with a set of channel locks.
That was a good egg. I think the total weight of the egg and the chocolates inside it was nearly four pounds.
