God and music, it is a thing, like the Psalms. How does a song make someone feel? Jesus perceived through his spirit. How does someone feel?

Music, it is neither good nor bad. It is a tool. How do you feel about it?

  • Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice. (Ezekiel 33:32)
Everything fits. I may have had to experience some thing towards making it fit. I gave prophecy, a few days later, I experienced something.

Given we are doing some heavy metal, there is a story there. There may have been prophecy.

Post or Tweeting songs with God.......God doesn't lie. The Bible is The Word of God. Word infers honor. God is honorable.

I tweeted or posted a lot of songs for God. I ended up feeling like was stuck in a Catch 22 for awhile.

What I am relating to you now is something I experienced, and may be prophecy.

I hated my life. I didn't care if I lived or died.

I serve the Lord Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, died and resurrected.

There should be an unbroken circle.

Were you part of something where we are broken?

Music is a powerful tool. It can be good or very bad. I believe the Lord uses all types of music because that is what Gets His foot in the door in many cases, when the Lord wants to make someone think!

And some people would turn off the gospel music but a heavy metal sone or a rock song they would play it right then and there. I think there's more Jesus hidden in rock music than heavy metal. I've always liked Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky" song, and who don't like "Jesus is just alright with Me" ?? That gets played! I think a ted Nugent song also subtly speaks of the Lord also.

Dave Mustain that got booted out of Metallica has purportedly got saved! And there's a song or two from his earlier days, that he wont sing or play anymore!

The guy from Korn got saved too.

I confess I'm a heavy metal fan - not as much now as I'm getting older, but there is still some I listen to. And certain bands I enjoy may have folks looking a bit askance at me if I named some of them.

But I also watch films like The Shining, T.V. shows like 'Breaking Bad' and what-not, so to me it's all story-telling unless one makes it clear where they stand. One example is a popular Iron Maiden song which has nothing to do with satanism, but some assume it does. It's actually based on a dream the Bass player had and he wrote about it.
So I don't sweat things like that too much, especially as the same band has written about faith, God, and the human condition

And then there are Christian bands such as this:

FWIW, the type of music you listen to actually alters your brain function, particularly the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus areas.

Different types are well known for their various different mental and emotional effects, consider the Juggalo's vs. Symphony audiences for examples.

It might be said that savage music produces savage people and gentle music produces gentle people.

Consider that a child in the womb hears the music you play around its mother as his or her brain develops.

Agreed - the audience demeanor and behavior is completely different. And there is a huge amount of "group-think" that goes on no matter the style

It might be, but how do we (and who gets to) differentiate? The Beatles have both "She Loves You" and "Revolution #9"

Consider that a child in the womb hears the music you play around its mother as his or her brain develops.

Absolutely. One must have the maturity to differentiate - an infant/child does not. And the environment for the child in the womb has a huge effect on later relationship and attachment styles
