Has anyone used a cookie press to make Spritz Cookies? I'm giving it a try today. About 20 years ago I tried and failed to get them to release from the press, but I've been googling all kinds of tips and now I think I'm ready.

Oh, I didn't take any pics and some of them are already in the freezer.

It worked...but my device was different from the videos I saw online! So it took about an entire cookie sheet to figure out that I couldn't work it the way they showed on the video, and all I had to do was push a little and lift up and try to be consistent in how much I push each time. Then it went quickly.

I don't even know what Spritz cookies are. My wife made a load of cookies today with her aunt, and I got the job of quality testing them. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it....

They're made by pushing the dough through a tube and at the end is a disc that shapes the cookie into a design like a star, Christmas tree and more.

Never heard them called that before. It sounds like something my mother used to make when I was a kid, although that was a few years ago now so I don't remember much beyond enjoying eating them.

There was a famous boxed cookie that had the little cherry in the center. I loved those things. That's what mine taste like, but I didn't pay to buy the cherries since they aren't cheap.

I like cherries. I should dig out a recipe for cherry cakes or cherry cookies or something, ready for next year when the cherries are in season.
