I know what you mean, but she actually was brain damaged from a beating received as a young woman, and as a result of that was confined to her bed for much of the rest of her life.
I was thinking alone the same lines. In some ways it is similar to what happen to Ellen G. White. White was hit in the head with a stone at age nine. Or take the example of Mary Baker Eddy who was seriously injured after she slipped and fell on a patch of ice.

But it's not canon. In the Bible Study forum, we expect to study canonized scripture.

In Scripture, Jesus's apostle, John, acknowledged that not everything Jesus said and did was written. This means true information about Jesus not found in Scripture, according to you, didn't actually happen just because it isn't found in Scripture. Jesus may come to you directly, and tell you that true information not found in Scripture, and if so, what are you going to say to Him? "Fake news! It isn't canon!"

Maybe we should have a new subforum called "Maria Valtorte Study" where our new member could post to her heart's content?

That's not canon. Jesus made sure that everything we need to know about salvation is already in the scriptures, there is nothing missing for us to believe in His forgiveness so that we may have eternal life.
