Your favorite soup? Which one makes you happy to eat?

I love pasta e fagioli made with sausage, but since that isn't the healthiest, I only make it two or three times a year.

My next favorite is chicken tortilla soup that I make in the crock pot. That soup always helps me to lose weight. But I get sick of it after eating it for 3 days in a row.

Today I'm making chicken and noodles, not calling it a soup because my husband doesn't like all the liquid.

My wife makes a few soups I like. The one we've been eating lately is chicken tortellini (sp?). She also does a potato and sausage soup, a chicken orzo soup and a cheeseburger soup. We like the cheeseburger soup a lot but there's a lot of dietary junk in that so we don't eat it very often, usually in the winter months.

Sometimes she cooks a white chicken chili. I really like that one but she's not too fond of it so she doesn't make it a lot. Sometimes she modifies it to incorporate a friend's recipe, which is similar but uses black beans instead of white beans.

I'm intrigued by the potato and sausage soup!! I don't eat potatoes often, but the thought of the combination of those with sausage sounds yummy.

I am a lover of all sorts of soups, but swamp soup will always have a special place in my heart. :)

Here's a recipe of it: Swamp Soup

If I recall it uses canned potatoes, the little ones that don't overpower the soup. It has bacon bits in it, and heavy cream (I think my wife swaps it for half-and-half, to at least slightly cut down on the fat in it). The standard recipe calls for kale but that has a nasty tendency to go stringy so we usually leave it out.

I'd never heard of that but the recipe looks amazing!!! I need to add it to my list of soups to make this fall. Thanks!

Clearly this is diet food (LOL).

Oh yes. Among the very few clean jokes offered by a particularly crude (and very overweight) British comedian is the line that "I'm on a diet. Well, actually I'm on two diets. I tried one, there wasn't enough food."
