What I have been trying to tell you is you cannot say what we are doing because you do not know anything about us. You told her to stop serving sin like you know that about her or like you are Patriarch over her. It is Satan that accuses the brethren. You don't know her from Adam's house cat yet you accuse her of serving sin. Children of God do not serve sin. We serve the Lord. You don't know what our Father has us doing in our lives.I could boast about what I did serving today, but it isn't about me. It is about what Jesus has done, done, done.

nope .. the entire thread is generic . But what i do know is when folks say these scriptures to me ..i say amen .. i am not bothered by them one single bit .. because i know the lord Jesus has set me free and my conscience does not condemn me .
we can only be convicted of something in our lives that needs dealing with .
the message is to one and all. you me we they it mater not what terminology as the message still applies to us individually

what you have been trying to say is that you disagree. but im not called to follow you but God . his word is trut .. he has stated by the holy Spirit ( and i will give it to you in yet another variance of translation )- Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

we all must repent and remain repented .. (to sin we must also repent .. we must repent of obeying the lord JEsus to go and obey the desire of the flesh .)
to be forgiven and saved we must repent of SIN in order to follow and obey the lord jesus .. he said we can't serve two masters .. his word is true.

the point i have made fro the beginning of this thread remains the same and it is true .

unrepentant sin.,, is unforgiven sin
if we continue in sin then we do so in continued disobedience and show that we are not born of God . according to the word of God .we must repent.

There are many parts of your posts that members here have agreed with. The problem spots are where you claim that we can be sinless in our lives which is not biblical. We can not be 100% sin free...or else we would be gods ourselves, so you're breaking the first commandment.

Now you are trying to tell me what I meant. As young folks would say, you trippin' man. First, you and me, and every other Christian repents, and is born of the Spirit of
God. Most of the people on this forum have been through that process. What I think happened to you is you just got saved. I understand that new birth experience. It is glorious and praise God for it. But that does not give you permission to accuse your brothers and sisters in Christ of serving sin. You have no way of knowing that so stop it. You do more harm than good with your condemning, judgmental accusations. You don't know how many smoldering wicks you are pouring water on to put out, or how many bruised reeds you are breaking. Lord Jesus says He does not do this. So stop it.

Matt. 12:19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

You need to study what discipleship is all about. Even Paul went into the wilderness to be taught by God.

can you state the scripture to back this claim up or is it yet another opinion based on another opinion ?

and "I " don't claim anything but over and over AND OVER i have shared the direct word of GOD in 1 john 3 and elsewhere -so it is not "me" anyone needs to agree with or disagree with .
As i did not know that God has failed t do what he said he could do.. to suggest he cannot do what he has promised to do is to remove him from being God .

The first commandment is to love the lord your God with all your heart and mind and strength .. we certainly are not doing this at the moment we are choosing to practice a sin .
no one has yet told me in what manner the Holy Spirit within us (if we have indeed repented and received the holy spirit ) compels us to do a sin and break god's perfect law all over again after he has forgiven and cleansed us and made us a new creation in christ and indeed not under the law (being no longer under the law means we now live in CHrist under the law of love ..- is it loving God to ignore his spirit and lie, steal ,commit adultery etc? no it is breaking the law of love by rebellious disobedience ..did the lord jesus by his spirit tell anyone to ever do that ? .. how does the lord Jesus,by his spirit lead us guide us instruct us or compell us to sin ?
and the devil cannot do that to us ..not if we have actually been set free from his power .

so if we feel compelled to sin.. that (just like the scriptures sates ) displays that we are still under sins power and if we are still under sins power we are not saved from sin but slaves to sin. if that is the case that a person simply cannot or feel they cannot stop going back and doing the same sin over and over -then they are in need of being rescued from that state .. they need to be saved -because that is the state the the unsaved are in ..prisoner to their own sin .

either the lord Jesus came to set us free from sin that we might now be servants of righteousness .. or he did not .. which is it ?

all you seem to have to say is .. a not very well veiled accusation aimed at "me"
yet i have judged no one i have started a thread on the topic that unrepentant sin is unforgiven sin ..showing plainly by the scriptures that this is so .
and showing plainly by the scriptures that when we are truly saved we walk free of sins control in order to walk in obedience to the lord JesuS .

we simply cannot walk in obedience to the lord jesus and sin at the same time

you well know this to be true so i have no idea why you insist in opposing the plain word of God ...

lete me share that plain word of god again..

i hope this time you will simply read it and say Amen to it ..from your heart .

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister." --- oh look ..its the Bible you claim to believe in .. but now your saying its spewed out made up stuff ??? you need to make up your mind what you believe ,repent and follow the lord JESUS

Romans Chapter 6, what does Paul say about it

Hi Bill. Paul in chapter 6 reveals that we do not serve sin. Maybe what that means to you and what it means to me is different. We do not serve sin. We serve the Lord. Keep reading through Romans 7 and you see Paul confessing that he himself covets which by the law is sin. But Apostle Paul was a saint because he was in Christ. So, he says it is NOT him who sins, but his flesh . Paul cries out to the Lord our Father who will deliver us from the body of sinful flesh. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. This is why being in Christ protects us from living in sin. Now people who are not in Christ serve sin. But for many people, it is impossible to separate the soul from the flesh. But we know the Word of God can even sever between soul and spirit.A person who has not found Jesus, who cleanses us from sin lives in bondage to the sin nature that we are born with. But a born again believer has been forgiven and no longer lives by the flesh, but by the spirit. It is not hard to understand. We have been sealed by the Holy Spirit. We belong no more to the Kingdom of darkness. We no longer serve sin. Now there is the parable of the wheat and the tares. But even in that Lord Jesus says let the wheat and the tares grow together lest we accidentally pluck up the wheat. So, we are to be careful that we don't plow under tender wheat shoots while tending the field. Lord Jesus said leave the tares alone, and He will separate them at the harvest.

1 john 3:6 -No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;…

yes that is what it says .. so if you continue in repeating the same action which you know to be sinful -you need to look seriously into your salvation with trembling . because the lord Jesus did not die on the cross to leave us as prisoners languishing in our sins and feigning repentance . he came to make us new , deliver us from sins power so that we are free to no longer sin . a christian life with out repentance is hypocrisy.

if you do not believe that the lord Jesus can and does give us full power over sin when you receive the Holy Spirit ..then your not believing makes you an unbeliever and you need to seriously look into your salvation with trembling because the unbeliever does not enter the Kingdom of God .

if you read the word of God but go your way and do not DO the word of God because the lord tells us to be doers of the word and not hearers only.

if you do not abide in the lord Jesus (in prayer and life and love and obedience ) then you cannot bring forth fruit . Fruit is souls saved ..fruit is not doing nice things . when the lord told Adam and eve in the natural realm to "be fruitful " he did not go around doing nice things for folks .. he meant Multiply ..
the same - when the lord Jesus tells us in the Spiritual to be Fruitful ..he did not mean go around doing nice little things ..he meant Multiply .. bear fruit .. and so prove you are my disciples the Lord Jesus said . if you're not bearing the fruit of souls saved .. your not bearing fruit . and a branch that does not bear fruit .. will
be cut off and gathered up and burned .

these things are spoken by the Lord Jesus and recorded for very good reason . the lord is coming and he will gather the wheat into his barn,, but the chaff he will gather and it will be cast into outer darkness forever .

Here is your OP. I rest my case.

So, we are to be careful that we don't plow under tender wheat shoots while tending the field. Lord Jesus said leave the tares alone, and He will separate them at the harvest.

AND then paul goes on to say AFTER giving his example of what life was like for him "BEFORE" ... (because you're presenting these verses as though they are singular message but they are not , but a part of a whole point )
a point which he gets to when he says .... " So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God. 5 When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.-

which is what iv been repeating the entire thread

he then goes on further to say who (referring to that woeful state of struggling with sin.."Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? 25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord...........

he also goes on further to say - in roms 8 "He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.- so you see no mater which way w look at it .. we are set free from sin in order to not do it any more ,its wonderful news because sin brings death and who wants death?

he also continues and goes on to say .in ch 8 .. "Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death- and he is speaking to disciples (followers of jesus (saved folks ) when he is teling them that letting your sinful nature control you leads to Death .. he is not speaking to unsaved people .

and it goes perfectly johns letter which perfectly agrees .. See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children,
and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize
that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what
we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him,
for we will see him as he really is.
And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him.
Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning
does not know him or understand who he is.

Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this:
When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous,
even as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning,
it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning.
But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning,
because God’s lifeis in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children
of God. So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil.
Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers
does not belong to God.

As Christians we know we shouldn't sin but the truth of the matter is that we will sin. We know we shouldn't willfully sin against our Lord and Savior. Upon this we agree and we shouldn't return to the sin over and over. That's the Law. We know it well. Committing sin goes against faith which is turning away from God. Scriptures warn of us losing faith when we turn away from Him.

So all those things are true.

What is also true is that our sins were forgiven at the cross. Even the ones you haven't committed yet, which to some people isn't as apparent as you would think.

The Law warns us of grave danger of falling and the Gospel assures us that we are forgiven.

Repentance is God's work within us. It isn't going to be immediate sometimes...and probably even most times. We will not be perfect until Christ's second coming and have our new bodies, even though we currently are perfect "in Christ".

Knowing Law & Gospel and how it applies and when to apply it is so important.

If you preached the gospel, that would be fine. But you have posted so many anti-gospel things on this site, I really doubt you know it. You want to but such a heavy burden on people. That is utterly shameful.
Utter freedom from sin is not a burden. It says that shame and chastisement feel like a burden. Why do you think repeated sin after knowledge of it is painful? It is to turn you from it. You must be able to be saved(newly able to see your own sin), and then, by the will of God, and under his direction, change from it. Only then can you justly and rightly, under God, speak of the sin of others or judge them. The burden is the sin.

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.

It is Jesus who delivers and keeps us for He is in us. Don't you see? Without Him we can do nothing. When we gave our lives to Lord Jesus we became His. He became responsible for us. It is He who straightens us. It is He who guides us. You seem to think you are the one who is making you holy.
Christ puts it on your heart. It is up to you to follow his direction.

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.

If this is for salvation then No, Christ did it all. If this is for our sanctification as a believer then the Holy Spirit guides us. When we fall into sin, and we certainly do that, then the Law accuses us and the Gospel eases the burden.

... "that our sins were forgiven at the cross. Even the ones you haven't committed yet.. " for a second time on a statement you've made i will ask you to present the clear unambiguous scriptures which sates this to be the case .. ? because you do not seem to realize that your saying (along with a few others "that it is ok to sin " and it is never ok to sin . your also implying that we "have to sin" as if we have absolutely no choice in the mater .we are made sinless by faith in christ when he forgives us it is total all record of sin is wiped out and we are free from its power .that is scripture .. now you are saying that we don't have the record of sin wiped out and we are not free to cease doping it .. but in truth your merley making allowance for sin .

this very false accusation that im not presenting the gospel is proven false by the very fact that absolutely everything i have shared is direct unambiguous scripture ..
beginning with the OP verse which so many professing believers seem to not even know is there .. "

this is the direct unambiguous word of God .. thus it is not "me" people refuse to hear

Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning,
because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children
of God. So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil.
Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers
does not belong to God.

we must never attempt to explain away the word of god to match our lives and thereby conform the word of God to the world for that is simply rebellion.
but we must conform our lives to the word of God -he gives us the powr of his Holy spirit to do just that .

it remains that unrepentant sin is unforgiven sin - a person must not deceive themselves and think that god cannot see that they fully intend to return and sin again -he does not forgive such hypocrisy .
there is forgiveness and salvation.. and the way to receive it is to simply obey the gracious instructions the lord has commands us -to OBEY the Gospel -repent !

REPENT and be baptized for the remission of sin and you will receive the Holy ghost .

If this is for salvation then No, Christ did it all. If this is for our sanctification as a believer then the Holy Spirit guides us. When we fall into sin, and we certainly do that, then the Law accuses us and the Gospel eases the burden.

again an absolute contradiction -you say "If this is for our sanctification as a believer then the Holy Spirit guides us." the you say.. when we fall into sin.. tell me how did the Holy Spirit guide you into sin? at what time does the Spirit of Christ lead you to Sin against himself that you can say "when" .. even jon in his letter (as i have pointed out before ) says "IF" showing that it is a tragic and sorrowful exception of willful nature by the use of the word "IF " he never states "when" .
the spirit does not ever lead us to sin -we have to shut him out ignore him and rebelliously disobey him i order to go and lie steal commit adultery (porn) etc
it is impossible to do any of these sins defying the perfect law of God while being led by the Holy Spirit

so -JUST LIKE THE WORD SAYS .. if we continue to sin we are not being led by the Holy Spirit .. we are not abiding in Christ .. we are being lead by the flesh and the spirit of this world .. and if we feel we can't stop doing so, then we are still enslaved to sin and death and still serve the world . and thereby ..do not know God because any one who knows him STOPS sinning and as it is written" cannot go on sinning"- they CEASE . they remain in a constant of repentance constantly turned to JESUS .. not turning to him one time and then turning away to sin all the time .

well now , your trying to be tricky but that wont hold water .after all God has already declared that the unrepentant and unfruitful will be gathered like chaff and burned in a fire that is never quenched -so it is rather plain that God has an absolute limit as far as putting up with sin.. he never ever tells us to sin, never leads us to sin, and can never tempt us to do so .

and then you add insult by implying all the verses i have shared directly out of the bible as the message it is - are not "christian "? i do not suggest perhaps you should i say categorically you must repent from thinking in opposition to the word of god and renew your mind .

repentance is not a one off event ..it is a consistent state of abiding in christ. if we are consistent in re-turn-ing to sin then we are not following Christ . it is as simple as that .
and if we feel we cannot stop sin then that shows we are under sins mastery and need to be saved from our sin .

its all very simple very basic very clear in the scripture .
there is freedom for all offered and they way to receive the offer is made clear -to repent and don't go that way any more -but follow Jesus ,obey him , for he said those that love him ,obey him . do the math, when we turn away from him (which we must do in order to directly commit a sin ) to disobey him.. we are not loving him .we are rejecting him and need to repent of doing so .
we are not set free to then go back and practice sin ..that is the entire point of being set free from a captive ..so we do not have to obey that past captor any more .

------------------
and here is the entire parable your alluding to - you will note that he speaks to men in regard rd to not forgiving after they themselves have been forgiven ..he does not place such restriction on himself nor does he ever state a man can not repent and be forgiven by God . he never contradicts himself .

"Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone[a] who sins against me? Seven times?”

22 “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!

23 “Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. 24 In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars.
25 He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt.

26 “But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’ 27 Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt.

28 “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars.[d] He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment.

29 “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. 30 But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.

31 “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. 32 Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. 33 Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ 34 Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.

35 “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters[e] from your heart.”

What's being preached is s lie. One of two things will happen. Either one will think they cannot live up to the standard and be burdened. Or one will convince themselves that their sin isn't as great as it really is. Both deny the gospel. Both are wicked.
