Coyotes are a big one. Javelinas. Then there have been some shark sighings too.

We get voles, raccoons, possums, rabbits, squirrels, groundhogs and a few songbirds in the yard. We see vultures, hawks and eagles flying in our general area. One year we had a bald eagle land in the yard - it turned out we had a rabbit that died and the eagle decided to help itself to an easy meal. A few times we find snakes in the yard.

We get deer once you get even a short way out of town. Once you go a few miles into the woodlands you can find deer, bears, turtles, a few varieties of snakes, porcupines etc. You have to be lucky to see some of them - I've only seen a couple of bears in a decade - but they are out there. People tell me there are coyotes in the area but I've never seen one. I saw something that I think was a bobcat but can't be sure.

Moreporks (owls) and possums. Nothing else unless you go into the bush (forrest) then you might have some wild boar and deer...

We have all the same ones that @tango listed, so I won't repeat them, even the ones in the rare category (except I haven't seen the bear that is supposedly in the area).

I've seen bear scat more often than I've seen actual bears. I know they are out there, I just very seldom see them. It is good to see hawks and eagles flying. Every once in a while we get an owl but I haven't seen one for quite a long time. One year we had one nesting right outside the house, which was cool.

Bears. There have been several attacks here lately. A girl was recently mauled to death while she was on vacation at the mountains with her boyfriend.

The bear tried to attack the rescuers and, had the ranger not shot the bear in time, it might have claimed another victim.

What kind of bears do you have in your area? Here we have black bears that generally don't attack people (but getting between mama bear and her cubs is unlikely to end well).

Only brown bears, as far as I know. The bear that killed this girl was a female, but didn't have cubs and no one knows what caused her behavior. She didn't have rabies and she wasn't threatened. Apparently, the only reasonable explanation was hunger.

I guess if an animal that would typically eat meat is hungry it will attack species it might not normally attack out of desperation. I've heard of a very small number of incidents of black bears behaving aggressively towards humans for no readily apparent reason but I think we are so different to their preferred food sources they wouldn't attack us even if they were hungry.

Yes, cougars, panthers at neighbors. When they get out, they come to my house to be petted, held and walk home. I raise the Ford Cougar as a child.

Oh wow! That's exciting and scary. What happened to the cougar you raised?
