There's not much need anymore for such a change since most states have made voting possible for days or weeks prior to election day (and sometimes after election day, too).
That's without having to make any claim of needing an absentee ballot because of health issues or the like.
What's more, some states have made it possible for people from the Democratic Party to go around and collect (called "harvesting") absentee ballots from people who can't be bothered to mail them back to the election boards themselves.
If all those gimmicks were abandoned as a part of a changeover to having election day be a national holiday so that people wouldn't have their jobs keeping them from getting to the polls, I'd favor it. However, that won't happen for obvious political reasons and, also, because there are other reasons why people don't make it to the polls on election day. Those reasons would be cited as arguments against making the change.
